Mystery Case of The First Triond Writer Reopened

On April 28th, 2011 Ima Vee asked the question "Who was the first Triond writer?" We got an answer from Alistair Briggs saying it was judleoson. There is one more factor that we may have overlooked.

Some time ago Ima Vee wrote an article entitled “Triond’s First Writer” at http://writinghood.com/writing/trionds-first-writer/ This article peaked curiosity as to who was the first person to write on Triond’s article writing site. The article itself, as she said, was not to give the answer but to find the answer to this intriguing question.

Some people felt that it was Joie Schmidt, or Ruby Hawk, or maybe even Udi Oz the Triond co-founder as it was felt that to test things out when Triond was in its embryonic stage he had to create a writer’s account. Trionder Alistair Briggs finally put things in perspective with some detective work saying that #1 was Triond, #2 apparently does not exist and #3 was judleoson who only has photos up at this present time. It was felt then that judleoson was the first Trionder without counting Triond itself.

Thinking things over last night I realized that there was another possibility! Every picture profile on Triond has a referral number. The referral number is not a random number. It has to do with the order in which you joined Triond as a writer. Using FireFox’s “Page Info” addon you can see what referral number is associated with a profile picture. The assumption was made by commenters in Ima Vees article that if the first Trionder was not #1 or #2 that he or she had to be #3. Now, that may be the case. But what if Triond started counting from #0 instead of #1? That person would be the first Triond writer. In fact, there is strong evidence to suggest that any Triond writer that does not have a picture in their profile will automatically be #0. Is there such a person? For example, the Triond writer named fagina is #0. The picture address of that profile is http://s3.amazonaws.com/triond/avatars/0_a.jpg  If you go to http://site-connect.net/info/www.triond.com  you will see that one of the four links to images on that page with profile picture numbers is #0.

Additionally, if you use the Wayback Machine (see See Triond The Way It Was in 2006!) you will see that the earliest screen snapshot that we have of Triond is on July 6th, 2006. There are  writers featured on the left there as having recently published or as being on the Hot Content List on that day, less than four months after Triond’s inception. These writers are: krigjsman, sameer, Brock Richardson, dona, Leonor David, Shiva, caremee and shaharsol.

Krigjsman’s profile no longer exists or has changed. Sameer, it appears, may have closed his account and then either he or someone else reopened or started one with the same name on October 25th, 2010. Brock Richardson, dona, Leonor David, Shiva and caremee all have two things in common – they all wrote articles in Hebrew, yes Hebrew,  at that time on a Triond partner site named Guyava; they also all have no picture and therefore have the same picture address http://s3.amazonaws.com/triond/avatars/0_b.jpg.  Shaharsol, who most likely is Shar Solomianik, the co-founder and CEO of Triond, no longer has a writer profile by that name, though he has a website named www.shaharsol.com.

The question was also raised in Ima Vee’s article as to what the first Triond writer wrote about. That I cannot say but I know that only Quazen and Guyava were around when Triond first started out. Triond’s third site Authspot, did not come on stream until almost two months later.

The earliest article link from the July 6th, 2006  Wayback Machine snapshot has both caremee and shaharsol publishing articles on May 2nd, 2006 in Guyava, articles with Hebrew titles. Judleoson who is #3 only wrote three articles and only the latest has a date – June 4th, 2006. Incidentally, judleoson joined Triond on April 18th, 2006, one month and four days after Triond was made.

In conclusion, how can we say for sure that judleoson was the first Triond writer when many of the early writers without a picture profile would have a picture address marked #0? It seems that there was no differentiation then and now. The only difference is that one got #0a and all the rest are #0b. I wonder how that affects the referral system since it is the referral number that is used as your profile picture number. What are your thoughts on all this?
