My Personal Style of Learning: Does It Sound Like You?

My personal style of learning is one is a style which contains a quiet environment to learn. I need a structured environment without disruption. I don’t work well in a situation where the teacher jumps around with different ideas. I like things consistent in a flowing matter of order. I need order to the chaos and I use outlines to take quick notes. I then study the subject or information to fill in the gaps. I like learning in a traditional classroom with a blackboard and with instructional notes written. I like things orderly and I study in an orderly fashion. I take my assignments in gradual steps such as blocks, and work on them in that fashion.

I am a visual person and also learn hands on. I enjoy the arts and use colored markers when I take notes and use colors to separate ideas. It could be as simple as using a red pen to mark important facts in an article I am reading or a highlighter to outline information.

I scored highest on intrapersonal and musical skills in learning styles. I do keep a journal and I find a rhythm within the academic structure of the information I am learning.
