Having good and supportive friends not only makes life’s tasks easier, but humbles us as well.
One of the many things in life is that we should never pass up an opportunity to thank those who have made a difference in our lives in some small or large way.
There is a poem by Edward Roland Sill called the Fool’s Prayer, that I read in high school, and a phrase from that poem has always stayed with me. It says:
“The word we had not sense to say
who knows how grandly it had rung.”
While I am not sure how grand any words of mine ring. I did want to take the opportunity that is available to me to say thank you to all my Triond friends for so many things you have done to help me over the course of these last several months.
First, I would like to give a huge thanks to all of you have allowed me to use links to your articles for the website. While I was reluctant to take on this task in the beginning, I am really excited now that it is going to prove useful to beginning writers. A big reason I feel that way is because of the advice and encourage all of your articles offer to new writers.
Thanks to to all those who took the time to check out the site, make useful comments, and offered encouragement. You will never know how much that means to me, and to my husband who truthfully bit off more than either of us could chew.
Since I am thanking everyone, I want you all to know how much all your friendship and support has meant to me in the few months since I have started writing online. When I first began writing I was not even sure that I could write one article worth reading, now I have written more than 300 for different sites, and while some of them may not be top notch, there are many articles I am extremely proud of having written.
Many of you have read most of my articles, be they good or bad, and while I have received many helpful and supportive comments, not once has any of you said “What were you thinking?” no matter how badly I missed the mark.
Your support has helped me not only to improve my skills as a writer, but as a friend as well.
You have all helped me to learn other skills related to writing as well. I have learned a little about SEO which I knew nothing about when I began writing. You taught me about promoting my articles, and many of you tried and tried to teach me how to link an article until I finally caught on.
All these things, have helped me in a thousand ways big and small and I am indebted to all of you for all the support and kindness you have shown me.
I only hope that I have proven to be as good a friend to some of you as you have to me.
If anyone should ask me, why they should read others people’s work on this website again, I shall simply answer “because you gain so much more than knowledge. You gain a look into the hearts and minds of some of the most wonderful people I have ever had the privilege to know.”
Thank you all!

I know what you mean. The huge boost that a friend’s supportive comment gives you is unbelievable. I remember my very first comment on this site (I haven’t been on long). I must have rehashed it in my mind about fifty times that day. lol
