My Experience Writing for a Triond Challenge

The best ideas come during sleep…

Through the Triond forum, a fellow writer, Mr. Duff D Moss provides us with a random two-word writing challenge. One of the words has an adjective. Finished published pieces are submitted to the forum the next Monday. There are no prizes. A true writer likes a mind challenge.

When the challenge is issued, my process is to write the words down on paper. Then I sleep on it. My best ideas come during sleep. Ignorance of a subject can easily be rectified with an internet search. Lord knows somewhere someone has the knowledge I lack. Of course fiction and poetry are probably the easiest route to take.

One of the benefits of doing a challenge is to post on the forum thread that your piece is finished and published before the deadline. Other writers that procrastinate will visit your profile to view your work. Some will even succumb to the un holy temptation of using your theme to write their own piece. No matter. Views are money. “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
