The overview of the parallelism between Music and Writing.
Writing is an art of expression, and music is its equivalent. Only that music is accompanied with specific rhythms, tempos and cadences. Both are an art articulating our feelings and expression. Both are the drives of our emotion to inscribe our thoughts and let it out – materialized sensation inside our spirit.
The greatest symphonies and scripts from the old age still dominated today’s interest. The classical masterpieces – the greatest plays made by the known musical geniuses of our history are mementos of their emotion. The brilliant minds didn’t only utilize raw intellect to bring fort a piece that would conquer records of history but they did something rather extraordinary than that.
Their compositions are their souls; their works are a part of themselves only portrayed in a different medium. Every work has a story behind; every script is an inspiration from a specific event blended with passion. The masterminds knew the secret of immortality in this world. And they’ve rendered into the society their emotions; that until today, its sentiments are felt whenever you hear their remarkable melodies. They are alive through their works. The true expressions of their thoughts are magnified in each timbre and tone. The pitch and frequency tells the story behind their loftiness and struggles. Listen… you can hear it!
The correlation between these two – music and writing – is never remote. Instead, their relation is unbelievably close. The secret ingredient is passion – the one thing that would transform any repulsive idea into a wonderfully sparkling magnum opus. Just listen closely and you will surely hear it.
Listen to any classical music now. Notice the tone, the shifts and the tune. What does it tells you? What do arbitrary rhythms make you remember? Is it a distant memory? A dream? How is your mind driven by the melody? How does the tempo lift your spirit? Can you see it? Can you feel it? Let it out while listening, surely, it will! And it will appear marvelously with dazzling colors.
Studies say a strong scent of burnt wood can bring out random distant memories of our past experiences. But – talking about experience – music reminds me better about my memoirs. Every tune is a different spirit to me, and every melody brings with it a certain emotion. When I write, I check my mood; I reassure what emotion I will be parting in my writings. I see it to the point in which my soul will also play in the words while the music behind my ear fuels the fire of my expression. I want my readers to feel how my feelings blend with my sentences – while each phases ends, the emotions set out with it.
As a conclusion I would say, music fuels my writing skills. I have been a pianist for a few years now and become skilled in it at some point. And through my experience, music became a part of me. Few weeks ago, I decided to write, write something behind this playful imagination. And it did work out very well. Now I’m thinking, if a musician can also play the words like the scales of instruments – how hard would it be for a writer to accompany his words with melody?
Reader, I will ask you a favor today. Listen, and then write.
Witness how music transforms your ideas beautifully.
