Improve your writing

Mayt Hundred Posts

It is a spelling mistake in the title, for the simple reason that this post marks another milestone as a triond writer.

Believe it or not, this is yet again a post in which I shout about more hurdles breached and more successes gained. In this, my 800th post submitted to the triond site since I began here on December 12th last year, I am finally beginning to feel that I am getting somewhere, but what a real slog it has so far been.

I spend hours each day, researching, writing and posting new stuff,  responding to queries from other triond writers, and generally doing all I can to make my mark. The most pleasing thing to me about this month of May has been the fact that I had just over 1000 comments from people about my posts, something that really makes me feel that I am not making the effort in vain.

OK, so the money on this site isn’t great, and the low ranking with search engines makes views in quantity hard to come by, but I have been contributing here for just over six months, made lots of contacts, gathered a small army of fans, friends and followers, and am well on course to get my next two big targets – 100,000 views and 1000 posts – achieved before the end of my first year, which I think is pretty bloody awesome, in terms of effort.

To be honest, I think that the social network sites have made a big difference, facebook, twitter and dig, but recently I noticed a lot of triond member activity on stumbleupon as well, and two other social sites – http://www.matesgate.biz/refs?tonyleather – that one is matesgate, really nice site that pays you for being part of it, and has many triond members, and then there is mylot, another neat social site where you can earn extra cash for just joining in – http://www.mylot.com/?ref=tonyleather

I would CERTAINLY sign up to matesgate if I were you guys, because I have seen a MARKED improvement in views since I did. The difference that these links make may not seem too obvious, but the more networking you do, the more you get noticed, and that is the aim, is it not?

To some people, 800 posts will seem like a mountain they could never climb, but it really is not that hard to do, if you have enough determination. I started this month hoping to get 50 posts published, and ended up with 138, so the possibility exists to do plenty, if you can put in the time. This may, in fact not be the 800th post published, because it will probably jump the queue, but it is the 800th I have SUBMITTED, a fact of which I am quite proud.

As a final thought, how many of you have taken a look at the real writing jobs site? If you want to make decent cash from your scribbling, then joining up with them gives you access to a huge database of job opportunities for writers, and in many cases the pay is way better than on this site. Just a thought for you mercenary types out there.
