How many of us were told when we were growing up that listening to music while working on homework or writing was a distraction?Well now parents and teachers are finding out that the one thing that they were telling us not to do really does help. It is a proven fact that if you listen to music while doing your homework or writing , that is not only keeps the person motivated, but also promotes creativity .
You may be asking yourself “How does it help your motivation?”Its simple really , music is a stimuli. It depends on the speed of the music will either slow the person down and make the person sleepy and relaxed. Or if you have a medium to fast paced music, it keeps the mind and body awake and alert.
But it does not just depend on the speeds of music . It also depends on the type of music you listen to. If you tend to listen to Gothic, Acid, or Punk , your work will tend to be darker than normal. New Age, Bagpipes Scottish and Irish music tends to create a light and care free type of work , that usually associated with work like brainstorming environment.
Blues, Classical, Pop and Love Songs tend to make people think of love, sex, and sexuality . A lot of people when they are trying come up with a good love poem,story or love scene they will listen to things like this. Christian, Gospel, or Praise music is used when individuals want to create a positive , godly environment . Things that promote praise, happiness, celebration of God and more .
Country, Alternative and Rap while some of it is changing , these types tend to create depression, sadness and anger. But if you listen to some of the new artists they tend to have music that promotes love, happiness as well as making people remember the past . So no matter what type of music you listen to it will help you in whatever you are working on .

I like listening to music to get me into the right mood. But I usually have to turn it off when I get going.
