Improve your writing

Lazy Networking

A glance at the various ways to Network your writing.

Let us be honest, the only way online writing makes sense is when it’s painless.  Anyone who can get a job writing in RL will make more money than on 6 a penny publishing sites.

As long as there is no ‘work’ involved, (beyond the writing) it makes some level of sense.   If you were inspired to write about this topic anyone, and would have, pre-internet, put it in your journal or submitted it to your local rag, then putting it on a publishing site is no more than a click.

And networking should be no more than a click.

There are hundreds of Social networking sites.  You can see them every where there is a share sign.

Some are better than others and some are a pain in the RX.

Once you join Stumble it’s a click, so is Digg, Bebo, Delicious.  Reddit has always been annoying, depending on what category you chose to post your work, more or less.

Years ago, the method of using Reddit was 1) Don’t use the same category more than once an hour.  2) Separate your submissions with stuff taken off the Web, ie, photos of puppies, jokes about Microsoft, cartoons, etc.

For a possible 600 views and maybe a whole $1, you’re going to spend your life, submitting your article, waiting ten minutes, then submitting this cute puppy picture, waiting ten minutes, (you don’t want to be told you’re trying to share too fast, right?) waiting another ten minutes, sharing this Demotivational Poster, then trying to ’smuggle’ another article your wrote, (under a different nick, from another site) onto Reddit.  All this work for maybe a whole Dollar?  You could make more in less time recycling your bottles.

Further, the stats prove Digg is a far better choice, and Bebo isn’t that far behind Reddit.

Hence Reddit is a bit too much work.
