Just Why Do Other Writing Sites and Their Writers Fear Triond?

Judging by the disparaging reviews and misinformation about Triond I find myself curious to know why writers for other websites and perhaps the websites themselves seem to fear Triond and it’s community of writers.

As many of you know I write for a variety of writing websites and have come to the conclusion that many other websites and their writers are concerned about Triond’s success in the writing community I might even suggest that they are afraid of the competition that Triond offers their own websites.

How did I reach such a conclusion? Simple, I am an avid reader. One of the many types of articles I read is on writing and writing websites. Not only do I like to keep informed but as I am hoping to make a full time career out of writing I am always looking for new sites that my talents might earn me money. Therefore, when I see a site giving a review of a writing site, I take the time to read it.

Triond is the most reviewed website of most of these other writing sites. However, in most cases the reviews are “disparaging” to use the kindest word possible. It is as though the writers for these other sites fear people joining Triond so they write as negatively as humanly possible even to the point of giving grossly inaccurate information.

One website I write for on the other hand ask for reviews of other websites listing the websites to review and ignored Triond all together. Which I found interesting and somewhat telling. Could it be that this particular website that is known for accurate writing does not want to encourage such an accurate article about Triond because they see this site as their biggest competition? I don’t know for sure, but with all the negative reviews I find myself wondering.

What I find strangely mystifying about most of these reviews is that almost everyone of them points to low pay out rate on Triond and makes a point of saying how much higher the payout rate is on their writing site. One would think that if the discrepancy was as much as these reviewers claim it is that this fact alone would make people prefer to write for their site and there fore the reviewed would not have to resort to ludicrous claims to keep people from writing for Triond.

The last article I read the reviewer actually went so far as to list what he claimed one Triond writer wrote about, which was such things like types of drunks and how to make nipple tassels.

While some Triond writer may have actually wrote such articles, he totally ignored the other writers and the fine subjects they write about in his effort to convince readers that his site was “higher classed” in the article department.

Truthfully, I found that at least among the articles I have read on the two sites, the articles were comparable. While there were some excellent articles on this other site, there were some that could use improvement. This is the same for most websites.

Ironically enough, You rarely see a Triond member slamming another website, even when that member has tried other writing sites and found them to not be to their taste. What negative comments I have seen have been legitimate comments and expressed in polite terms.

The only conclusion I can come to from this very unofficial research is that the Triond site and it’s community is doing a fine enough job of writing that it has other websites and it’s writing seeing Triond as their competition, and like many bad politicians see mudslinging as a way to make their competition look bad.

For myself, I think Triond stands out among these websites, because it has garnered the most committed writers of any writing site on the net. Perhaps, that is the secret to its success and the reason that these other websites and their writers fear this site.

Whatever, the reason Triond seems to be a site that other sites feel the need to reckon with.

Don’t you love it?

I’m here for the long term. Triond is the only site I write for. Other sites are not even on my radar screen.

I’ve dabbled a bit with other sites. The Triond community is by far the most supportive. I like how straight forward Triond is as well. There are no games like on other sites.

For me the difference between Triond and the other writing sites is views. Most of my Triond content keeps getting me views and earning me money long after I have stopped promoting the content. At all the other writing sites almost all of my content stops getting views and earning me much money as soon as I stop promoting it. Been writing at Triond for 3 years now and if I do Google searches for my old content I can still find it but I cannot find the vast majority of my old stuff from any of the other writing sites by searching Google.

I’ve not really experimented enough elsewhere, although I’ve joined several other sites. I recently joined Redgage though, which seems like an interesting concept (since you earn for promoting your Triond articles) so I’m going to keep going with that and see what occurs.

Although I have not read this post before, I truly agree that Triond will go a long way. So I wrote something about it in my recent post titled “10 Reasons Why I Like Writing and Reading at Triond” (http://writinghood.com/writing/10-reasons-why-i-like-writing-and-reading-articles-at-triond/).

You see, I don’t just write for Triond but I also enjoy reading other writers’ work. And I agree it has a very supportive community of professional and novice writers like me.

    Thanks for the article.
