What makes a writer, a writer.
A lot of writers do not start writing because they intend to make a living out of it. The reality of it is, it takes a lot of time and effort relative to the amount of income you get per copy sold. In the end, unless your book is a best seller, the profits are very limited.
So if it’s not from motivation of earning income that drives us to write, what is it?
I call it, “Jumping Worlds.” – it is the power of being able to get away from reality and visit other places, fiction or real.

Some use writing as a stress relief, and let me tell you – it works. You’re angry, you’re stressed, all you need is a pen and paper; prepare dive into another world and relax.
You may find writing to be a hobby of sort. Once you’re able to jump words yourself, good writers try to get the same feeling across to their readers.
Writers WANT readers to visit them, in their world, and hopefully enjoy their stay.

Yes, I agree with you. I like the earning but my main motivation is to be able to enter my own world while writing.
