It Has been All about Views for Me on Triond

34 days on Triond went quite well for me. I published 45 articles till now, got my 10000 views badge day before yesterday and on an average I get 500+ views every day, even when I don’t publish (because I’m lazy, and I prefer to be a QUALITY WRITER instead of a QUANTITY WRITER)

20 out of 45 articles have received views above 50 (which are good). Out of possible 20, 18 are above 100 (which is better), and out of the possible 18 articles, 7 have been over 1000 (which is the best part). So many views so early, I should be dancing isn’t it? But I am NOT. Reason is LESS COMMENTS. I confess that I had come here back in hopes of once again giving it a try and earn this time. Well, I did earn something i.e. $3.25 (all would say it is less, but for me it’s a good start), and in the past 3 days I have earned $0.78. But my ‘writer’ spirit seems to desire for something beside views, and i.e. COMMENTS.

When I came back to Triond, I had many ideas in my mind, which I wrote down and posted them. I would like to mention the following next lines in points.

1.     For my delight, the problems I had faced 3 years ago while getting an article published, had completely vanished. My articles were published, hurray.

2.    Though my articles were published, I had no views. So, step 2: MAKE FRIENDS.

3.    In time I made friends, but only few seem to notice my articles. So, step 3: VIEW THEIR ARTICLES, LIKE THEM AND COMMENT ON THEM REGULARLY.

4.    Well, I got the views, but only in the range of 10-20. I was surprised. Out of 150+ possible friends, only 20 people viewed them, let alone be commenting. Then my eyes went below on the ‘DASHBOARD’ window. Hot Contents! “So, that’s the deal.” So, step 4: To gain views, write on Hot Topics.

My first 10 days have been explained in the points above. It’s true; everyone seemed to write about Publishing, Triond, Health, Science, and Blah Blah Blah. All were conventional topics. At first when I came to Triond, I had decided, “All write on the same monotonous conventional topics, so I’ll write something different.” My experiments were flops. It’s like I tried out for experimental cinema, but commercial cinema still ruled. But I noticed one thing, treading users wrote whatever they liked, Conventional or Ideas. All those articles seemed to receive views on large scale; even 20-30 comments JUST LIKE THAT. After that, all became clear in my mind:

“To express your Ideas on Triond, you first need to be a Trending User.”

Next question was how to be a trending user on Triond? Simple, write articles which would be a hit, gain all the badges which show that you are elite and interact with everyone. I don’t know about Earth, but Mars has been very luck for me. All the articles on Mars have gained 1000 views each. That is why you would have noticed me writing about Mars and Astronomy lately on Triond.

Last 20 days have given me 10200 views in all. But if you would have seen, I don’t believe in publishing 5-10 articles every day. This is because; the ‘Mantra’ on Triond is ‘WRITE MORE, GAIN MORE.’ Dozens of users do, but as I mentioned before I prefer to be a QUALITY WRITER instead of a QUANTITY WRITER. Already, I have compromised with my Writer Spirit by writing on conventional topics, but not any further now. I strongly feel, “What’s the use of gaining 100 views by publishing 10 articles?” Some might say attitude, over confidence, laziness, whatever.  But for me, the reason is noble. Each article, whether personal idea or convention, means a lot to me. So I prefer to allow each article to work till its limit (and this procedure has seemed to work a lot). But this is my thinking, I don’t criticize other. I criticize the ‘Mantra’ on Triond.

But over all this views, what really means to a writer is REVIEWS. Comments help us progress a lot. For me, there have been exactly 17 people out of the possible 150 who comment on my articles always. Some even share their views personally and inform me if I’m wrong in my article somewhere. And for these 17 people precisely, I everyday read their works. Now, I won’t brag that I read them all, but I sure do read the topics which are my type. And for those 17 regular users, I would say THANKS A LOT GUYS.

There will come a day when I’ll share my ideas to all. There will be a time when many would give their views. But for that, I need to become HOT! Here I Go!
