Ah, I miss the good old days of Triond. Have they gone forever? I hope not, but it seems so.
I don’t write much for Triond these last few months, but that didn’t bother me too much because my number of views were running steady and even when I wasn’t making much money through Triond directly, I was still making about $50 a month from Adsense because of Triond.
However, a few months ago, all that changed.
Now I’m only making about between $15 and $20 per month from Adsense on Triond.
I’ve scoured my Triond numbers and my Adsense numbers. My number of viewers are staying about the same. However, my number of clicks on Adsense ads have dropped tremendously.
I wondered why this must be, then I noticed on another Triond article (sorry, don’t remember which one) that the writer pointed out she or he was seeing far fewer Adsense ads on Triond pages.
This got me to looking at some of my own articles, and sure enough, there are fewer Adsense ads than there used to be.
Why would Triond do this? The pay is already practically nothing at the site, and now our potential earnings have been cut even more.
My guess would be Triond got a better deal with another advertising company, or maybe the Triond staff is experimenting with other advertisers.
I don’t know, but either way, something needs to be done.
For a long while now, Triond has been a sinking vessel. Then this happens. If the powers-that-be don’t want to fool with Triond any more, please, go ahead and just close the site. It’s practically not worth using any more. The pay is worse than ever, and without the forums or some other easy way for Triond writers to contact one another, there is less chance of beginning writers learning from others.
On the other hand, if the top folks at Triond are interested in bailing out this sinking ship, any time now would be right for trying something that actually helps the site’s writers, something that actually draws in new writers and readers. As is, there’s little reason to make use of Triond any more, which is one reason I no longer write here very often, though I do love the site (specifically it’s simplicity of use, and I do miss the old crowds that used to hang out here).
Please, someone, anyone, at Triond. Do something! Close it or fix it! Just do something!
