Is It Really a Waste of Time?
Some say that writing here is a waste of time. They laugh at the about of money that you gain from writing. Some say that this site is only for people who don’t have anything better to do.
Do you think writing for triond is a waste of time? Many think that it’s shameful to write so many articles and earn so little from them. I look at it this way, if I earn 3 dollars it’s more than I had in my pocket before writing. I have an education and I’m in the process of becoming a teacher. I would love to make a lot more but it is what it is. In this broken economy one should be thankful if they make a dime. It’s rough and it’s so disgraceful to put another down because they continue writing for little income. I don’t think I’ll be in this position much longer and will generate enough income to live comfortable. I encourage you to continue to do what you love and if you can make some money from it, why not!
Triond should pay more but I believe it’s a long shot. Let’s face it, it’s a whole lot easier to write on this site than other’s. People should encourage instead of discouraging people. I will continue writing until I’m ready to stop. Writing articles can help release stress so I will continue.

I will continue to write here as well, it is therapeutic and the pennies are an extra boost. I am grateful for each penny and encourage anyone to write here. Triond is much easier to submit to and they offer several ways to get paid… not just paypal.

I agree with you. I think the same as you it is more money than I had before and after a year or so the money will build up if you save it. Afterall I have a figurine of Edgar Allen Poe that my mom just reminded me before I read this article that Poe died in a gutter in Hells Kitchen and he was broke. But look how fondly he is looked upon.

If someone thinks only in terms of money, then it is good that they do not write here. What I like about Triond is the control it gives me over my content , a chance to experiment with my writing, as well as to interact with my readership.

Good question. I don’t feel it’s a waste of time. Maybe to me it’s getting no comments when I comment so much but in the experience of writing and writing the way that I like, it’s priceless to me. I’ve always said, I am not rich but I have NO complaints. My needs are met daily. I do like to construct my time and this is a perfect vehicle which also makes me a better Writer. Who knows what can happen next to all of us?

I agree with your opinion Tiki33, I am not into writing for the money but if it comes great. I enjoy the creative part of writing were I can express my ideas and challenge my creative thoughts. Keep hanging in there and express your words.

So very true Tiki , same reason i got here…lets just write and write not thinking of what shall we get ..its so okay right ? Friendship is enough ..right ?
