Improving my Writing Skills

Since I have started writing for the Internet, I have found myself asking what I can do
to improve my writing.

Such as:

1.        Reading other people’s articles- Sometimes the articles, stories and such inspire my
            own ideas.

2.        Reading novels- I have found since I started writing, I pay more attention to
            the style other authors use.  Especially, some of my personal favorite authors.

3.        Practice- I have found that as I have continued with my writing, I have gotten
           better at discovering techniques which work for me.

4.        Using variety- I have found that since I have various interests I tend to write about
           different topics.   I like that I am able to do so. With the way I think I have a tendency
           to try different ideas for articles or stories in my head.

5.       Trying to appeal to the reader-  I have tried to put myself into the mind of the reader
           or what I would like to read about.  I have found this works pretty well.

I do find however, that my stories do not do as well as some of my other articles.
My foremost interest in my writing is my storytelling.  However, I have learned to
adapt and still write one or two stories, for my own enjoyment. 

I would like to think as I continue with my writing, I will improve as I learn more.
