It is very true that you need your friends in order to survive in this website but turning down this friend is like closing my door for more earnings.
Last night, I have turned down a friend from Triond and I think he felt disappointed about it. He was just recently added as my triond friend. He wanted us to have a deal to earn more revenue on our account. He said that all we have to do is to view and like each others articles (every single article) everyday.
I told him that I cannot grant him with that. This is not all about money. Yes, I joined triond coz it promises fair revenue but it isn’t all that. I want to enjoy writing and reading relevant and interesting articles as well. Comments and likes are important for me but I don’t find his suggestion helpful because it looks superficial to me. I want to be always honest with every comment that I will give and be genuine to myself if I really like the article or not.
I know that I have the capability to select a good post but I am however not that hard to please. I appreciate the simplicity of a post as long as it tells something – a message the author wants to tell the reader or something you can relate with. On the other side, I cannot post comments like “good post” or nice article” if it did not really appeared nice to me. It’s fine to hate me because I am honest but it’s harder if you will hate me because of my heartless comments.
Turning down this friend is like closing my door for more earnings
It is very true that you need your friends in order for you to survive in this website. That is why from the moment I was writing this article, I could feel the hesitation to post it because some of you might hate me for this and would remove me as your friend. I don’t want to look like an idealistic writer-wanna-be or a hypocrite troll because I never dream to be executed in front of the trionders. I also want money but I don’t want to earn it in an easy but distort way. It could help you grow as a writer if you will focus on writing quality articles that would not definitely waste a person’s time in the net. It is not the end of the world if no one views your article in a particular day. Sometimes, we feel so downhearted and been left behind but that is life. It’s just that we can’t give anything at the moment and you have to remember that this is also the time when we can be motivated to improve ourselves instead of trading our credibility as a writer.

I usually grant my Triond’s friends request, but I think your consideration is right. Make a good writing, the earn will follow.

Everyone has his/her principles and we got to respect that.
Want to share this quote with you: You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.
— Winston Churchill.
Not that your Triond friend is now your enemy.

I do get one or two similar request from newbie friends, all I do is to ignore the request. Saludo ako sa principle mo, just do quality articles and you will harvest what is due you.

I know whom you mean, jrabraham. Because many of us got his request via personal mail, and he had published his request as an article. I felt the same way as you did, but didn’t want to be harsh on his face. I appreciate your courage to say what you feel! You impress me more and more with each post.:)
