Always Proofread your Writing.
No matter how good our English is, even if we are Managers, Doctors or Solicitors – we must double check whatever we write, before we send it out or Publish it, if it’s an article. Otherwise, in some cases, it could have disastrous effects.
A good example is below; A Postcard from a husband to his wife. (He is away from home, due to work commitments)

Hi Sweetheart, how are you?
Hope you are doing fine and not missing me too much.
The Hotel Conference is really nice and I am having an excellent time. I wish you were her.
**
(he missed out the letter “e” at the end of the sentence)
Chances are that his wife will hit the roof – not all wives would realise he made a spelling error. That might even be her in the photo below!

Yep very important. At least to catch the vast majority of the mistakes. Sadly, you can check over something a hundred different times and there still might be a couple of errors. Such is the nature of writing.
