We didn’t like the facebook commenting system, you changed it. And now I am asking you to attend to other issues too.
Thanks Triond, but there’s still so much more for you to do! It’s not only about manifesting your writers wishes, it’s going to be profitable to you too!
Old comment box back where it belonged. Checked. Thanks Triond. There’s still so much more for you to do! It’s not only about manifesting your writers wishes, it’s going to be profitable to you too!
We didn’t like the facebook commenting system, you changed it. And now I am asking you to attend to other issues as well:
1) Upgrade systems for English Language: Including upgrading the spell check tool and installing a more effective tool for grammar. Delete articles which are word translations, you know I am referring to those articles which contain phrases like ..happy now are gone. Sad today world hit news got died. Nation came calling. People gathering…It’s awful!
2) Better systems for grievance addressal: Get satisfaction -the complaint addressing system on Triond is more like “response dissatisfaction!”I am asking you Triond to respond to our queries and complaints and give us prompt feedback, like they do at Expertscolumn! We demand more transparency and interaction from Triond!
3) Get Real: I feel Triond should take responsibility and give us a clearer picture of what is really possible from being on Triond. What you can learn? What you could do here? How much you can earn? Instead of luring us with false promises of …passive income…publish more-earn more. In real life, Triond I would definitely want to sue you for leading us on!(and honestly, I am not the kind of person who like to sue…but sometimes I feel it’s too unfair!)
4) Provide more monetary incentives: Pay for each published article, for instance, a small token amount would do. Similarly for referrals. Also, a few cents could be paid out along with the badges-10 cents on completion of 10,000 views.
5) A graded payment system: Maybe Triond would consider paying writers who have regularly published here a little more than new-comers.
6) Publish articles in the proper category: It is awful to see your poetry get published in gomestic and your recipe on authspot!
7) Delete duplicate publications and plaggerised articles: Your ratings have fallen. Dear Triond, Google thinks you spam too much. It’s your responsibility to look into this issue and sort things out immediately!
Publicize the writer’s popular articles: Some articles will always do better than others. Writer’s can capitalise on their popular articles, if Triond allowed us a little space on the profile page to publicize them. It’s just an idea.
9)Help us promote our work: One sure shot way of doing this would be, for Triond itself to make concentrated efforts in improving their page rank. And if you take steps to remedy even a few of your flaws, that have been outlined here, it can make a huge difference!
Come on Triond, you’ve give us an opportunity to present our writing… so that you can make money! There are lots of others like you. You used to be a fabulous place years ago, and then what happened?
Profits are important to you and to us! You provide the platform, your writers the content…As a writer I accept responsibility to constantly work on producing good quality content but do you take your responsibility seriously?
Are you into the business of online publishing just to make a quick buck and disappear? Or do you want to stay and grow and get richer?
If it’s the latter, I recommend you take this article seriously! Thank you!

Very good article with very valid points, I agree with you Avissado, great writing. Best wishes, Chris.

Wow, seems like a tall order Avisbut yes, I am with you on all counts. But the fact that Triond has gotten back to the original system of commenting is already a huge step towards achieving a better working relationship between Triond and its contributors. We’ll take it slow, one at a time.

There is more work to be done…. of this you are quite right.

I\’ve contacted Get Satisfaction as regards the Hot Content list. It should be revised and to renew it with other articles giving a chance to other writers. It should be advisable to point out why they regard an article hoter than other. In fact, hot according to journalism means something which is on headlines (recession, financial meltdown, Occupy Wall Street or fashionable features or items) But their idea on being hot content isn\’t clear and those re way too old.

I like all of these ideas, but having the commenting system back is the first thing I’d want. Now that that’s there, It’d be nice to see some more monthly specials like there were in 2011.

Great article,thanks

All your ideas are good. If Triond would incorporate them, Triond would earn more income and so would the writers.

Good suggestions

Triond can’t give publishing incentives… because some people publish 50 automated articles a day. The would go broke.
Then need to stop those people from publishing 50 articles a day.
Perhaps limit how much you can publish a day. Many would not come to Triond in the first place.
Perhaps allow users to publish articles… vote good or bad. You have to vote others to get yours in the queue I don’t know but something has to be done.
Some automated authors have been here for a year or more. They would benefit and it would attract more.
They can’t get the duplicated or plagiarized correct in the first place. So they can’t stop this.
I think you should not be able to publish your content anywhere else after it is published. Period. That would fix half the problems. You would get more hits to your original articles from interested people if the could only find it in one place.
If you upgrade the English systems, spell check etc.. then it would actually be easier for a person not speaking English to post their articles.
Great article thanks.
The solution to all the problems lie in this document. Discussion.

When I was with eHow, there was usually staff input to inform writers what was transpiring, and to help structure policies as they affected the writers. Technical glitches were major issues over there, and changes happened regularly. But there was communication, and always they tried to improve the site, until Demand Studios took it back over. The reason I mention them is because writer sites have different visions for their company, and the bottom line is also different. Some writer sites don’t really care about quality – they just want the views, and will provide a platform for it. But there were good points brought up here, and one notably was that advertisers will not put their ads on a third or fourth rate writer’s site, as they don’t want to be associated with them. Upgrading Triond will take manpower, and that translates to investing in the site with more staff hours. Writers are great at identifying what is wrong, but the money and hours it would take to accomplish most of the suggestions is formidable. Turning the tasks over to the many writers is one way of getting sub-standard articles off the site, with staff supervision. We need to flag off bad articles, spun articles that make little sense, and bad content. This is being done to some degree now. Triond certainly has loyal writers. I hope someone “up there” has noticed!

You give us an eye opener here.

All your nine points are good. Its time to think about these.
Now its our duty to make this site better.
Thanks for pointing out

Yes! Thanks I love it!

All of your points are valid, however, to think that any would be implemented is probably dreaming…I recall the days when there were monthly challenges and everyone was upbeat and happier.

thank you everyone for sharing your views here…it’s easy to point out faults and make suggestions! Implementation is going to be an uphill task, anywhere… but this can happen only when the Triond opens up it’s channels of communication with us! Call it wishes… but I believe in hoping for the best always!
