How to Write a Good Title

Here are some tips on how to write a good article title.

Before you write articles, you first need to accomplish the first step. And that is to write a good title. Your article title is a very essential part because this is what makes the readers’ first impression on your work. Your title must be as catchy as possible. It is very important that it is accurate and related to what you will write about. Here are some helpful tips to get you started:

1.      Determine your audience.

Ask yourself, “To whom am I writing for?”. Your article title must right away capture the attention and interest of your intended audience. By doing this, you are promoting your article and motivating your audience to read it further.

2.      Decide the purpose of your article.

Do you want your audience to be moved by your article? Or you want to persuade them into doing something you want? Before you think of a title, you must take into consideration your sole purpose in writing your article.

3.      Determine the main idea of your article.

What is the main point of your article? Use it as a basis for your article title. You can use the shortcut version of the main idea of your article as its title.

4.      Craft a Catchy Title.

Create a title that offers your readers a first glimpse of your article. Make it as simple and “straight-to-the-point” as possible. You must avoid questions in your title and should be no more than five words.
