My input on how to write a book.
To write a book takes time, but it can be easier to do so by following these steps.
1 – Figure out what you want to write about. The setting, time period, and overall style and genre is key, or you will have a bunch of nonsense that will go nowhere.
2 – Figure out the main character(s). This will help you to give life to the story. Is he or she (or they) trying to find something, escape from someone, make it big in the city, or what? You have to decide what the main character(s) goals are.
3 – Start writing. Let the story write itself, with you giving input when needed. You will be amazed on how much you can create while the story is being written.
4 – Eventually, once you have your idea solid, figure out how the story will end, and then continue writing your book, working to the goal you set for yourself.
5 – Don’t worry if the writing is poor in parts. Nothing is set in stone until you say it is. Go back and edit when you have writers block, and try to stay dedicated until your book is complete.

Depending on what you write, you might, but if you held on to your imagination from when you were a child, these steps should be enough.
