It really isn’t hard to win this challenge if you follow this simple how to plan.
Triond has deemed that their May quality challenge was so successful that they are repeating it again this month. However, many writers here on Triond were disappointed to see this challenge reappear as they felt they had little change of winning. So here are some tips to winning the July quality challenge here on Triond.
Pick a topic that is trending right at this moment and write a short article about it. Don’t worry about your spelling, grammar, or even if the article makes sense. After all, the quality that you are being judged on has nothing to do with how well you actually write.
Now find 20 friends who are not members of Triond and have them click on your article then go to the beach, out to lunch, work or wherever leaving your article up on their computer screen.(If they can find your article doing a google search so much the better)
When they return they can then click off the article but, before doing so they should have 20 of their non triond friends then click on the same article and go take a long shower or bath, a nap, or go see a movie again leaving the article up on their computer screen. Then these people too should have their friends repeat the process.
In no time at all you will make the 100 list for the highest quality articles without anyone actually reading your article at all. Of course do ask them to leave a comment about anything at all so it looks like they actually did find your article so fascinating that they spent hours reading those 300 words.
It’s that simple and may I say that stupid.
I know there are people who will say that I am just pissed off and jealous for not having won any money in the May Quality bonus. But, that is simply not the case. While I am pissed off I am not jealous as there have been many other Triond contests I have not won anything from.
And I don’t even mind this particular contest if Triond had named it something like the best marketing contest, The Triond popularity contest, or even an anything goes contest. What pisses me off is that Triond is calling this a Quality contest when quality had nothing to do with it in any way, shape, or form.
I find that calling this contest a Quality contest is a slap in the face to the many exceptional writers on this site who work day in and day out to produce interesting well written articles exceptional quality. To label some of the trash that were labeled winners for the May contest as quality articles was insulting to those who really do produce quality work on an ongoing basis.
The fact is, if Triond wants to hold a really quality content they are going to have to set guidelines, read each article submitted themselves and actually have some idea of what makes for a good quality article in the first place. Judging from their current criteria of what makes a quality article the administration of this site hasn’t a clue.
And people wonder why this site is scoring consistently low in Google searches? Now you know.

Totally agree!

Thumbs up on this information. You should receive an award for top quality articles, contest or not.

Yup, you’ve just about covered it.

I agree wih you on this. It is not a what you write, I read some of the stricles that won the last tme and I could not belive it. Some had such bad spelling and gramer I couldn’t make heads ot tails of what they were about. Like you said it is not about quality it is about popularity. Most articles only take a few minutes to read wat does Triond expect me to stay on one article of 300 or even 2000 words for 5 or 6 hours. In that amout of time my four year old could have read it ( by the way she can only read a few words as of right now) 10 x over . Call it what it is because what they are calling it now is a little offensive to people who do write top quality articles.

That first line should read I read some of the articles that one last time and I could not belive it.
I did a download of a product to day that everyone is raving about on here and now my computer is having issues.

Ding ding ding!!! I actually did the opposite of what one should do on a month when something like this is offered- I didn’t write a single thing- and will probably do the same thing this month as well! Sort of like going on strike you could say ;D.
I preferred the other month’s ‘challenges’ over these farces.
It would make more sense to judge quality on the number of unique visitors- and not the time spent on the article.
Next challenge they should have a recruitment challenge- where you have a competition to see who can gather the most active referrals(but, I can see how people would cheat with that as well….).

you have twenty friends?

I agree that ‘quality’ is definitely not the best name for this challenge, and it is unfair and can be easily won by cheating, as you say. Triond needs to buck their ideas up. I for one will just be writing as normal throughout July. If I win something, then good, and maybe my mind will be changed, but I refuse to jump through their hoops for nothing.

I’m not interested in any competitions, as I feel the reward is not that attractive. I prefer the previous competitions they had like 20% on 10 articles and so on…. I felt that was more attractive.
I wished there was a challenge, where they rewarded 50% for 20 quality articles, each not less than 300 words, that would have been some good solid money. Isn’t it?

Very nice suggestions. I appreciate it.

Very well written. I haven’t been around long enough to know what’s what with these competitions. I’ll just keep doing me, striving to do the best, and hope it all pays off in the end. And I don’t think I have 20 friends.

I agree with with what you and others have written.I know for certain that I clocked more reading time than others on the list had because people were coming and telling me that they had read my article and I had evidence in my page views. Some kind of fix went on with this. Also, I agree that they should not rate quality in this way. I too feel that many of the articles that won this competition were not well written. Finally, there seem to be a lot of problems with Triond at the moment. I have only read five of other peoples articles today and all of them have been about problems with the competition or with admin. I read this in the hope that there really was a way to earn the extra credit on this site only to find that the writer was of the same view as myself.

I totally agree. In fact, after reading about the repeat of the quality challenge I’m taking a break from writing for Triond.
July 1st, 2011 at 9:21 pm
I agree. I liked the ones where you had to write so many articles for certain sites and received an extra 10% to 30%. This one is plain old stupid.
July 1st, 2011 at 9:51 pm
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Let’s face it the contest is geared toward advertizers being seen and not articles being written. The age old quantity (time) versus quality (well written submissions) monster yet again rears its ugly head.

Spot on!
July 2nd, 2011 at 9:40 am
Great points Martie, you certainly possess a reasonable rationale that most of the Trionders lack (no flattery)
July 2nd, 2011 at 9:55 am
Yup.. I didnt win a darn thing on the last challenge. I figured people were cheating, but I dont have 20 friends so didnt have a hope! hopefully not everyone who got money was cheating.
July 2nd, 2011 at 3:32 pm
I can never understand how they choose what is quality. I think it’s a toss up. I just write my usual articles and don’t even think about a contest. I think it’s pointless.

Honestly it’s information like this that is killing the Triond community… now this is just my opinion, but cheating your way to success isn’t something to be proud of! Whether the Triond system for seeing good quality content is crap or not, to keep triond alive i wouldn’t suggest anyone to do this. Trust me you’ll thank me in the long run!
Click here now if you want the “real” way to get on the July list!

Dan I wasn’t suggesting anyone cheat. In fact, I was being sarcastic. But too be honest since the challenge is all about marketing and keeping people on your article I would say that even my stupid suggestions isn’t cheating anymore than promoting your articles is cheating.
The point is most writers here on Triond object to this challenge because it is called a quality challenge instead of what it really is.

Good article. I got your sarcasm many places in the article. Hope it was sarcasm at least!
