Here some negative forces working against you. This is the second part to the two part article.

Things to Loathe on Triond
Hot Content – Yes, the Hot Content List can also be a reason to loathe as well. In fact, I still remember the negative feed backs from writers who had since left or become inactive in Triond. They were frustrated on the Hot Content List for listing fake and trashy celebrity news. I tend to agree with the points they made.
Did you notice one particular article that seemed to be in the Hot Content List for months on end. My advice to rookies is to just pretend that it’s another glitch on Triond. With that in mind, you will get through that particular rough patch just fine. In fact with this mindset, you will get through most things around here with flying colours.
News Article Submission – News articles are the among the slowest to get published here. If you submit a news report for a current event, by the time Triond publishes it, it would have become yesterday’s news. Try it sometime.
Frienenemies- When friends become bitter rivals. It happens sometimes among the Triond community. It may be due to a miscommunication or disagreement over an opinion. This may ruin your morale, time and reputation here. Try to be patient and be nice to everyone and incidents like this will not likely happen to you.
Mal-wares- Mal-wares or viruses can affect any system. The malware issue in September did affect Triond viewership. Some writers lost up to 100% viewership on their articles. That lasted for 1.5 days and gave many members a big scare especially if their livelihood are based on this writing site. The Triond compensation payment helped to calm lots of nerves as well as the hair pulling.
More Glitches – Sometimes an article or two just do not appear in your published content page and you get no earnings for that article. Always submit short or one page articles so that you do not get disappointed and discouraged when that type of glitch happens to you. Spend some time on each article but not too much.
If you can balance everything up and see the positives more than the negatives however, you will definitely stay on. Personally I can see more improvements in Triond in these past few weeks more than in the past year. All thanks to the August glitch and September Malware issue. After experiencing these, I’m even more optimistic and hopeful that things would improve even further. I guess that is the main reasons why I’m still hanging around here after more than a year. Stay upbeat and positive fellow Trionders.

This is very well said, dear Sharif. I know you are a positive person. I have noticed that sometimes, articles remain pending for several days. As you say, we must remain patient. And you are so right.
Well done, my friend.

very nice article. I have noticed a few glitches also, sometimes when I try to leave a comment I get an error and can’t leave a comment. Sometimes if I refresh the page the comment will post.
I have also tried to view some members article and get the words ‘Forbidden’ on the page.

I like the way you’ve covered both the good and not so good points in your two articles, Sharif. Bringing these issues out in the open helps new members understand and put things in perspective. I’ve nearly survived my first year and there have certainly been ups and downs, but I love being here.

very well said also..
I only get impatient when my articles pending too long, but now I tell myself, just wait for 3 days. Also when I see “no business” in my articles, I tell myself “problem with the system”, not that nobody want to read mine, then I don’t feel so sad, haha…
I just try to see how things go here, hope I can stay till the very last…..
Keep going, Sharif.

You’ve not held back Sharif, these are some of the problems we face. I’ve been writing fewer news articles because it’s harder to get residual views with those.
Friends such as you are one of the reasons I enjoy being here.

I haven’t been in the first year yet, but you have written good points in both of your articles. I certainly agree with the Hot Content ones, they are picked by bots, I believe
Great topic!

Great effort again bro. Both parts are must read for Triond members.

You make some very good points. Write one page artcles full of detail and insightfulness, unless the topic demands more pages, keep your chin up and write what you know and like. Praise other writers who do a good job. Triond can be a bit slow at times, but keep at it and never give up, any amount of great earnings take time and not done over night. This is very useful information for new Triond members and reminders to older ones. Great share, Sharif!

Both the parts are really good. You have covered both the positives and negatives very nicely.

hımmm…the Frienenemies thing didn’t happen to me here (thankfully) but unfortunately it happened with a blogging friend who suddenly decided he wanted to be my enemy after a review of mine he didn’t like. well, he actually became my enemy after he called my blog half-ass (his words). Now, you can dislike me, my articles, my views and my blog. But instead of disagreeing politely you start calling my baby half-ass (yes, my blog is my baby. I gave birth to it, I raised it and I take care of it every single day), you are sure to make an enemy out of me;)
Apart from frienemies, I hate glitches as well. But thanfully, triond support team is pretty cool with returning any questions and requests and good support does make you stay.

that was really helpful… I am new here and so trying my best

The hot content seems to be a contradictory and ambiguous issue, as I see from many posts here on Triond. It’s great you covered the negative sides, one should always be able to see the picture as full as possible.
October 13th, 2010 at 9:23 am
Sound advice again, Many thanks .
December 11th, 2010 at 3:51 am
good as first part.thanx again.
December 15th, 2010 at 8:30 am
The hot content list is bogus and I think should just be ignored by all of us…there is no point in giving it so much importance….I think Triond should just eliminate it and then we can all get on with our writing…
December 18th, 2010 at 9:48 am
Quite exhaustively covered
December 20th, 2010 at 12:56 am
Great articles and tips, for both parts. I had been pretty discouraged when my articles do not have many views and my total earnings are less than ten cents but now I think I learnt how to be patient. Thanks for the share
