How to Stay Relevant as a Writer

These tips will help you stay relevant as a writer.

Sometimes, as a writer, your articles are in high demand. I’ve created some tips to help them stay that way.

  •      Don’t write about the same topics all the time. If you do, soon your readers will get bored with your writing.
  •      Check the Hot Content List for good ideas for your articles. Personally I don’t because I’m not too knowledgeable on those subjects.
  •      Write about something that interest you because an article not written from the heart is a sorry article indeed. This seems to conflict with my previous statement, but you can use either method and see which works better.
  •      Don’t write articles with tricky names to provide interest. Those who read them may not come back to look at other articles you’ve made or tell their friends not to visit articles written by you.
  •      If your writing informational articles, provide information that people will actually use. Don’t write an informational article about saying nothing in your article. It won’t help people and it won’t help you.
  •      Don’t go on and on. Writing that’s short, easy to understand, and to the point will help others comprehension of you article.
  •       Try not to make spelling or grammatical errors. Of course, no one is perfect, but try to make as few mistakes as possible so readers won’t assume your information isn’t useful. You can cut down on these by using the spell check button on Triond or Word.

I can tell you, these tips work. I’ve gotten a steady 2 visitors to my articles every day for a while. It’s slowly climbing, and now has rising to the magnificant peak of 11 per day! ( Not really magnificant.. or a peak… or steady… but what can you do? (=  )

Most importantly, have a good time doing it. If you don’t enjoy it, there isn’t much point to writing it.
