If you want to self-publish, but don’t have the money and making a lot of money immediately is not your object, it is possible to self-publish and have your book read for less than $20.
If you are an aspiring writer who craves exposure more than money, you should check out the site free-ebooks.net. There are several reasons to look into membership there–and you may actually end up finding a publisher! Though there are no guarantees of course.
Naturally if your book is free, people will be much more likely to download it. This will provide you with a platform in case you want to try another self-publishing method later.
Free-ebooks.net incorporates several type-sets instead of just the embedded form that lulu and some other companies use. While lulu costs nothing to self-publish, if only 2 people download your $2.99 ebook, you will only come out ahead by $24 and not gain much of an audience.
Here are the steps to self-publishing your ebook on free-ebooks.net. You will probably want to read many of their books as well. You can download up to 5 a month for their free standard membership.
Good luck with your self-publishing endeavors!

I read about your venture, Guy Hogan. I don’t want to minimize the pain of your experience. Anyone contemplating printing a bunch of copies of their book should read Guy’s article.
I should also warn viewers that this article is about how to gain exposure rather than money. Obviously you won’t get paid to give away your book for free.

I would be reluctant to pay someone to give my book away for free.
