Most writers say that they want to get more exposure and that they want to publish their articles online to brand themselves.
Why not get paid for your time? time is money as the old saying goes. So if you are spending time online writing why not at least make a few dollars for doing it. Now it will require that you set up a blog even if it is a free one. You can use blogspot, blogger, wordpress or squidoo, either way you need to create your own online identity.
Ways to promote your writing
If you really want to promote your writing you will have to take responsibility for your ownership. If you are not ready to pay for hosting and a domain for your blog you can always use free websites:
these are a few free websites that are very popular because they are easy to set up. And then of course their is google sites.
Now once you have your own online property set up you will want to start posting your articles and writing posts that your interested in sharing with the world. Okay now that you have decided you want to be a writer and you want to get published, start sharing your fiction, poetry or non-fiction with other readers on the web.
Become part of a blogging community
Join some blogging communities, the one that comes to mind is Blogcatalog, they are a blog directory so you just add your site to their network and then link to other related blogs to brand yourself online as a writer.
Get paid to write product reviews
A few ways to make money with your writing is to write product reviews, so many companies have products they want to sell but they know that consumers want to read about a real live personal experience. So write a good review or a bad one, just be honest about your likes and dislikes when it comes to writing about products.
Pick a topic you know a lot about
Now I am a big advocate of niche writing, I feel that if you know about a particular topic you should concentrate on writing about it only. For instance if you notice most of my posts on Triond is about marketing, promotion or making money online. This is not by accident, I set the goal to focus on those areas.
I know a lot about the subject and basically it is a hobby of mine, I like to know what the latest marketing tips are and I love sharing it with others. I do not particularly earn much from writing about marketing because I earn money from other niches.
As a writer you want to find that one thing you are knowledgeable about and then write about it on your free blog. Next you want to find products that are related to the topic. Once you do that you want to sign up with the companies affiliate program and add your link to your posts. Then when anyone reads about the topic and clicks through to the link in the text. You have the opportunity to earn a commission.
Learn to get paid for your time
So even if you like to surf the web, read blogs and be part of writing communities. Take some time and figure out how you can get paid for your time. It is worth the effort and if you put more value on you time than you will live a more quality life.
Summary: (sometimes readers miss the main points so here they are )
