Some tips for finding inspiration when the words just won’t come.
You know that feeling – you’re sitting in front of your computer staring at a horrendously blank screen. You attempt to write a sentence, and then another, but each one is worse than the last. Writer’s block is real and seems to be here to stay. After experiencing many moments like this I’ve come up with a few trips that have worked for me and I’m hoping they will work for you as well.
1. Read an article/book/essay by a great writer. Reading truly well written work will inspire you to follow suit and create a likewise worthwhile piece. We are born with a competitive nature, so much like the feeling you get when you see a friend excelling at work and suddenly feel the need to up your own game, you will want to up your writing game.
2. Take a break and do some physical activity. Your brain is a muscle like any other, and if you’ve been overworking it trying in vain to write a masterpiece (or anything at this point), give it a break! Go outside and take a 10 minute jog, dance around to your favorite song, do some crunches, then come back to your laptop and start your project again with a clear head.
3. Start with a quote. Sometimes when you can’t find your own words it’s easier to build off of the words of others. Once you get into the flow and write more and more, you can choose to keep or delete the original quote.
Good luck!

I always faced this problem called Writer’s Block. My mind goes blank and I don’t know what to write in Triond. Nice suggestions. Next time I will keep this article in mind.

Writer’s block is the curse of all writers. I too find physical activity such as housework or fresh air recharges the muse. I also will listen to classical music, read a chapter of the latest novel I have bought or read a poem from the old poetic masters such as the English 19th century poet John Keats.
I have posted a poem on writer’s block entitled Crystal Moments. Happy reading. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the tips on writer’s block. I like the one about using a quote for inspiration – my high school English teacher used that trick to jump start our essay writing.
