Writing is a great art. You get to express yourself and possibly make some money on the side. How do you get great ideas for writing your books? You can write about anything that you like or have in mind. There were a lot of  great writers from the past that wrote about their lives. They wrote a lot of stories about their personal lives and what goes on around them. This is easier to start out with since the ideas are there already. You don’t have to think hard for the details. Each of us have a lot of past experiences that could make a really good book. You can also write about what goes on around you, like the recession.

There’re a lot of interesting things that go on around us. You can make a great book out of the Iraq war or how your son was suffering in the war. You can write about how you lose your husband during the war or your experiences as a volunteer in Iraq. Each of these ideas would make an interesting book. If you met a boy in Iraq and you fell in love with him, this would make a good book too. If you just had a child and your child was born with a birth defect, you can write about your painful experiences with your child and share it with the world. You can start with yourself or your family or your town. You can write about anything that you see around you.

After you run out of ideas, you would then look for inspirational ideas or use your imagination to pull up a good story. You can get ideas from the world around you. If the stock market is falling dramatically and people are losing everything then you can put that in a book, it’ll make a good historical account book. People might read about it to learn about history five years from now. If you know of a worldly event that is ground breaking, you can put it in a book and people would want to read about it. For example, there was a group of MIT blackjack card counter that won a lot of money from Vegas and they were also banned forever from the casino. This was written into a book and made into a movie. If you see something really exciting on the news like the Ebola Virus breakout a few years ago, you can write about it. The list is long and there’s no limit as to the topics that you can write about.
