Since I began writing on Triond, I have noticed that often my articles were getting published in the wrong category. I didn’t know what to do? Not anymore, because I have learnt, only recently, how to flag it!
Thank you Triond and all my friends for your help.
Two days ago I posted 2 articles on Household Tips. And they both got published in notecook and one Ten Household Tips even showed up in the popular recipe column. It freaked me out. I wanted to straightaway delete the articles, both. But, it’s not easy, you know, after you’ve put in all the effort to write something, to wash it out by hitting on “delete”. It pains me! Especially, since I thought it was an useful share.
Anyway,I decided to wait for a few days, before I do anything. “I’ll take my time to think and act”, I thought to myself. In the meanwhile, I shared my problem with the people here. In the comments below the article, I mentioned about what had happened and the attempts I was making toward correcting the issue. I also asked for suggestions and help. Yeah Triond has a “Get Satisfaction” space to address our issues. But I have little faith in it.
I thought I would ask for reader’s help directly, instead of going onto Get Satisfaction. And, it worked so well for me. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!…I feel so much gratitude to the triond community. My heartfelt thanks are especially due to Bruce officer for taking the time to explain the matter to me; to safa and indianwriting for flagging the article; and to dodolbete for teaching me how to flag it into the right category. Thank you very much.
You know, it is surprising(just as it is shameful) I have heard about flagging but I didn’t know how to do it. Neither did I have any idea that it could be effective in moving published articles into the right category.
Once I had the information(and I found that it works), I spent a good hour, already, in checking some of my published articles and flagging them into the right category. It’s hilarious the titles under which some of the articles were published under. Take for instance: Claire(it’s simply about music, a song I like) and where was it published: under scienceray, astronomy?!I don’t know whether to cry or laugh about this?
So next time you find an article wrongly placed, if it’s your’s flag it. If not, contact the writer and ask him/her to flag it. Thank you. We can work towards improving the state of matters on Triond. We must not give up. Triond will have to give us ear, someday. Let’s hope it is soon.

Yes, it’s sometimes a very good idea to flag your own articles. Sometimes it’s a good idea to have a friend flag it as well. Triond has been known to refuse to move miscategorized articles.

Hey, thanks for sharing this but how exactly do you flag the article to move it into the correct category? I’ve noticed the same with my articles.

I often laugh about my comics being published under poetry. I don’t mind so much because poems are popular among readers, and the site I think they really belong in (Purple Slinky) is difficult to access for a teacher friend of mine. Still…it’s pretty funny.
