How to Do Creative Writing

Writing. Writing is a great source of entertainment. People love writing imaginative stories, but some people struggle to find ideas! I’m going to tell you how to get creative in your writing.

Creative writing is a great way to express yourself. I did it a lot before I started playing the piano when I was bored. It was a great way to picture an unimaginable setting from your head so other people can read and enjoy it.

When you are going to write some creative writing, you first have to think about your setting, your characters and your plot. This may sound simple, but in reality, it isn’t that simple. Before you think about that, you have think about a type of genre you would like to write about. For example, fantasy, crime, comedy, etc.

When you find that out, you have next find your setting. You could set in Earth, another planet, space, anywhere! If you set it in another planet, you have give the planet a name like Gag-2468. If it is set in space, you would have to set your story in the future (or in the past like Star Wars). If you set it in the stomach of a fish, then your characters would have to be relevant to a fish’s stomach.

Next, the characters. You have to name your characters to the relevance to the area. It would not be good to put the name of character Tom if it is set on another planet. You would also have take into account of the location. If it is on another planet, don’t put humans as it wouldn’t fit well.

The plot of the story is the second hardest bit. Take your time in developing the things that happen.  The things that happen must make sense though. Do something like slaying a dragon or other mythical beasts.

When you finish writing your story. Double check it and ask people to read it and ask for their opinion. You can even it add it on Triond!

Happy writing,

Cheers!
