How to Come Up with 25 Article Ideas in Mere Minutes

Trying to come up with article ideas? Complete this tutorial and you’ll be amazed at the results.

Many people want to increase their writing earnings but have trouble trying to generate article ideas. How the heck does one come up with ideas for a large number of articles?

In today’s tutorial, I’m going to share one of the strategies I use to quickly generate ideas for articles. As you do this exercise, jot down your ideas so that you can access them later.

How to Come up With 25 Article Ideas in Mere Minutes

This article tutorial leverages the power of 5 and uses the words who, what, where, when and why. Using the principle of 5 x 5 = 25, let’s get to work.

First off, create 5 headings.

Who

What

Where

When

Why

Now, underneath the first heading, create 5 article titles using the first word, “who.” Jot down whatever comes to mind. Do this quickly. I’ll do this too.

“Who” Article Titles

  1. Who is Sarah Palin?
  2. Who Wants to Earn More Next Year?
  3. Who You Know is More Important Than What You Know
  4. Who Understands Algebra?
  5. Who’s Who of New York’s Elite

Now, take the next word, “what.” Create 5 article titles starting with this word.

“What” Article Titles

  1. What’s Up With Obama?
  2. What are Lithops?
  3. What’s for Dinner?
  4. What is Identity Theft?
  5. What Career Should You Choose?

Create 5 article titles using the word, “where.”

“Where” Article Titles

  1. Where to Find Deals on Laptops
  2. Where to Book Cheap Cruises
  3. Where You Can Find Insurance Deals
  4. Where to Go For Debt Advice
  5. Where to Look for Vintage Clothing

Do the same thing with “When”

“When” Article Titles

  1. When Faith Weakens
  2. When You Should Seek Medical Attention
  3. When You’ve Spent too Much: How to Get Out of Debt
  4. When You’ve Lost Hope
  5. When Should You Start Planning for Retirement?

Now use the word “why” to create 5 more article titles.

“Why” Article Titles

  1. Why Insurance is a Good Idea
  2. Why Elderly Homeowners May Be at Risk
  3. Why Cults Attract Vulnerable Individuals
  4. Why Gardening May Be Good for Your Health
  5. Why Pets Should Be Protected During Cold Weather

It’s really not difficult to generate 25 article ideas in mere minutes. Whether you are trying to come up with an idea for one article or for 25, this technique is effective. You may choose to create different ideas around a broad range of subjects or you might be more comfortable creating a number of articles in a series, around one topic. Certainly, using who, what, where, when and why can spark inspiration.

Of course, these are only ideas for article titles but, for some writers, once they have a title in mind, an article soon follows. Other writers prefer to write their article first and then create a title that sums up the article. Whatever process you employ, use this tutorial to spark ideas.
