Nothing but a brief essay about the origin of members’ usernames.
Let’s share. Are you using your real name on Triond? I notice that some members carry like real names on this site. Well, I am not one of them. How did I come up with my username “Rarity Hill?” Obviously, the first name Rarity comes from the adjective “rare,” a description I’d like to assign myself as you will notice in my stories here that my background, where I come from, is quite unique from everyone else’s. “Hill” comes from that word “hill,” like a small mountain. The second name “hill” should explain where I come from—the “hills.” Although my place of birth is now a city, and this is where I live now, yet I know that it’s a city like no other. It is small and everywhere you go you see real trees, real shrubs, flowers and from time to time vehicles have to stop to let goats or carabaos cross the streets. It is one tiny city that wakes up to the crowing of chickens. Now back to my username Rarity Hill–I think it is the most appropriate name to give to myself. How about you? Where did you get your username? I notice some usernames are quite weird or let me say, out-of-this-world sounding but they must have some historical meaning, I have to guess.

My user name implies more than just the fact that I have several children of my own. I am also the “mom” to many of the people I come across in my life. I have been a surrogate mother for my nieces and my nephew, and some teen agers whose parents could not, for whatever reasons, be there for them. My user name implies that I am a helper, a caregiver, a shoulder to cry on. My user name is me.

Nice. ‘Blanka’ is Esperanto for ‘White’, but I got it way back in high school for looking rugged, like a character in the PS game you all know.
Still hoping to take you on on the kid rum, Momma.

Is that your real name Blanka? It sounds like “blank” or something in which one is free to write anything on.

My name is actually a nick name I got at a young age from a very close friend. At that time is was a very good nick name since it described me very wall. I grow since than, and most people will never even think about calling my like that. Yet, my best old friend still call me that, and this name is very precious to me. I guess it sounds weird to most of you since it isn’t in English.

Very wise – our name and date of birth are valuable commodities to marketing people and criminals. They should not be banded about indiscriminately but protected.
