Hot Topic for Triond, How Hard It Can be?
Short Stories.
Everyone thinks they can write a short story or even a novel.
After all, they think, I’m really good at telling a funny or interesting tale. How hard can it be to put it down on paper and get the same result?
But when they actually try, they soon realize that it’s very difficult indeed. You don’t have gestures or facial expression to help you out. You don’t have the benefit of eye contact with with the person you’re speaking to. You have to pull them into you story purely by what you write on the page, the way you create your characters you’re writing a short story, this is doubly hard because you have so little time to capture the reader’s imagination. As a result, your writing has to be sharp and to the point, well paced in a very small space. Believe me, it’s tough to do.

I agree. It is hard and that is why if I do write a short story and feel it is good I would prefer to submit it to a real publication which might publish it, rather than posting it here. The only short story I have posted is one that got many rejections from children’s magazines, Bring On The Food Fight.

Yes, I agree and that is why I have only posted one short story on Triond after it was rejected by several children’s magazines, BRING ON THE FOOD FIGHT. I would rather submit short stories to actual magazines for consideration before using this site if I feel that the story is good.

Story writing is a great art
It requires real imagination
The story must be short
But, it must contain twist
I have read many short stories
Of great writers in magazines
But, at times they are barren
And are great due to reputation
Short stories if are well-written
They will convey great ideas
Which may shape our views
