It is a concern for me that writers needing help in writing better should be able to get it.
I have noticed the difficulties some writers experience with the English language mostly coming from other countries. Granted it is difficult to come to grips with the written word and all of its sentence structure together with past and present tense as well as singular and plural context. Now Triond will be able to help as far as a simple spell check is concerned but anything outside this box, a rewrite is required. In the writing organizations they require writers to be a certain level or preferably an native of an English speaking country.
I was a member of another group who would have writers who would correct your work as an editorial basis. If this was hard to achieve you made an appointment time and your entire portfolio was up for correction by a team of other writers. I believe something along these lines would be a good thing here. There are many who battle with writing as it is a second language to start with before writing is taken on in earnest. I used to do this as a ghost writer of which I posted in an earlier post. I wonder what Triond or indeed the writers here are prepared to do.

I think it would be so useful if there was a more thorough way of checking posts for grammar etc. Some posts are quite difficult to read though I take my hat off to those who do their best with this rather difficult language of ours.

I agree with above, it must be difficult to write in English if it isn’t your first language. I struggle with grammar as I am often reminded by other writers; it is embarrasing to look back and see one’s mistakes. I don’t think Triond will go with correcting work as that will cost money. I know sites like Factoidz and Busika require a certain standard of grammar and spelling and for that reason they pay more! Its a good subject for debate and a good article. LB

I’m always trying to help and improve other people’s articles here on Triond, so when I see a poorly written article I simply rewrite or edit it so that it is readable and then I send it to the original author to be uploaded again.
