Triond writing involves milestones. One milestone is when you reach 50 articles, another is when you reach 100. The next step up is the 200-article mark.
There are probably two milestones that Triond writers watch out for more than anything else: article numbers and article earnings. The two go hand-in-hand, so it’s not surprising that these two stand out.
I remember when I reached the 50-article milestone, and then the 100-article milestone. When I hit 100 Triond articles, I started crunching the numbers: 100 articles equaled approximately $$$ in monthly earnings. Of course, that naturally led to new article and earning goals.
It can be incredibly encouraging to see your monthly article earnings growing as you submit more articles to Triond.
Soon, I’ll be reaching another Triond milestone: 200 articles. Now, this may not seem like much, compared to prolific writers at Triond but, because I work a number of other writing gigs, for me, this is still a nice milestone to reach. Slow and steady has definitely paid off over time.

I have exactly 142 articles and photos with 87 of them that are text articles with the rest being photos.
So, not so sure which category I go under.
Just this month I’ve earned about $18 dollars and I might go past $20 or hopefully $25 before the next payment date.
I still have loads more to go to be honest and the excuse I have for it is that I’m still in my teens and when I am mature like you briliant writers, maybe then I can really show true flair.
I really like this article for some reason that you’ve decided to involve us as readers too. It is a good read the way you measure a writers talent by milestones because at the end of the day, that is really what matters. Really good article, enjoyed participating in your question

Hi Atikin,
Thanks for your kind comments. And good for you! I’m impressed. That’s an awesome achievement for someone in their teens.
It will be interesting to see the article and earnings milestones. It should prove to be encouraging for the writing community.

I have around 140 pieces of content, about 25 are flash fiction stories. The articles are much easier to write than the stories. I’m trying to submit an article-more or less-every day.
As far as earnings, I feel that’s a private matter.
September 1st, 2009 at 4:08 pm
Hi Guy,
Thanks for sharing. 140 pieces is great. I asked for an approximate earnings milestone because many people prefer to keep that information private.

I like this article a lot because it explains how you need to judge your progress on your past success. I think people easily get discouraged with Triond because the money doesn’t pour in as quickly as they would like it to–it sort of trickles.
But the trickle is slow and steady–that gives me hope. I’m between the $$ and $$$ category. I’ve written 15 articles, though I have a number of poems and photos as well. I’m transitioning to article writing almost exclusively because it pays so much better and it’s just as much fun.
September 1st, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Hi Write,
Yes, you earn far more on articles than you do on poetry and other stuff. It’s exciting to strive for and then reach Triond writing and earning milestones.
While it takes time to build, the monthly earnings are most welcome.
September 1st, 2009 at 5:18 pm
Here’s a thought–your comment just inspired me! For those who aren’t comfortable divulging their earning milestones, they could do this:
$.$$ or
$$.$$ or
$$$.$$.
For myself, I’m in the $$.$$ category.

Gee, I wish I knew the secret to making money here or even getting more than a handful of comments.
At TIBU–before it went under earlier this year, I made 75.00 in one year–not too shabby. At Helium, 50.00 in one year. Here, I have only made 14.00 in about a year. I have written a number of articles here, but I haven’t really made much headway in the pennies I have accrued. A lot of it is about what you write about and marketing your writing.
So, for now I will just let the pennies keep on rolling in
September 1st, 2009 at 6:32 pm
One more thing–What I do here is for fun and writing practice. There is no way I am going to upload my really good stuff–creative writing wise. I am not going to run the risk of having my stuff plagiarized.
September 1st, 2009 at 7:31 pm
About $2.00 a month on 23 articles, but a total of 5 articles have yet to even hit the 0.10c mark, dating back as far as January 09.
To balance that out, one particular article is ~0.50c/m due to a very high Google rank.
September 1st, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Hi Papa,
How many article have you each written? if you would be willing to share. Papa, that sounds like a good approach. Write Internet articles here but work on getting other stuff published.
Hi Guffin,
Nice to see you here. It neat to see what others have accomplished.
September 2nd, 2009 at 12:01 am
I started on August 14. I have about 40 articles. I am in the low $.$$ category so far. But I don’t think Triond is good for money, if you take into account the time it takes to make one article. I make much more ghostwriting, so writing for Triond is a bonus for me if I feel like writing something I am just interested in.
More for creative exploits…cash becomes secondary.
September 2nd, 2009 at 12:13 am
In about one year I’ve managed over 100 articles and climbing which is great. Not a lot of money has been gained from my exploits but thats not my reason for writing here.

I like this article a lot, as we can learn from other’s experience. I am not a productive writer and write only when I have some spare time. So far I only produced around 30 articles.
September 2nd, 2009 at 12:40 am
It’s great to hear these experiences. The nice thing about Triond is that it is a flexible platform allowing for creativity and expression.
September 2nd, 2009 at 12:41 am
RJ you always write such great stuff and are such a bonus to the Triond community!

This month was my best month ever ($$.$$). I am sure it’s to do with The Real Owner’s paying more per view/click until the end of October. I assume it’ll go back to more realistic levels in November. I have nowhere near 50 articles, I think I’m closer to 15. I am trying to submit at least one article a week from now on. I should be able to do one a day since I managed to write 30 hubs in 30 days and they involve much more work from me.
September 2nd, 2009 at 9:35 am
Hi Susan,
Thanks for sharing. I hadn’t heard anything about the real owner’s thing (that might make an interesting article). Yes, Hubs take more work with all the capsules, etc.
It’s neat that some writer’s set article goals; others set income goals. I want to keep going until I reach a desired amount of residual income each month. I’m doing this will all the sites I write for.
September 2nd, 2009 at 3:54 pm
Have about 270 total content pieces on Triond and just had my best earnings month ever in August even though I published just 6 pieces of content in August. Was ready to quit Triond at the beginning of August too so I am glad I did not
If I had 2,700 pieces of content and earned 10 times what I earned last month I would be very happy with that.
September 2nd, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Hi Joe,
What an achievement! That is encouraging the hear. Thanks for sharing.
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:16 am
Hi Athlyn,
As always, you inspire and encourage.. I was all set to quit Triond this month. I have just 12 odd articles up and am in the $.$$ category.. So when I compared it to what I was making at Suite, I thought.. no way.. However, reading your articles has made me rethink, so am gonna give this another good go.. Let’s see.
September 5th, 2009 at 2:04 am
I haven’t reach any article milestone yet. Right now, I have writing here for exactly one month. Currently, I have wrote 33 articles and none of them are about poem. I got around 1$ per day and right now my total earning is 14.21$.
I love this article! It’s good to know what other people have achieved!
September 5th, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Hi Avixier,
That’s a wonderful accomplishment with the number of articles you’ve written in one month. Thanks for sharing.
September 9th, 2009 at 7:06 pm
Oh my – I have only 22 articles, plus 2 audio pieces. I better get to work!
September 9th, 2009 at 7:53 pm
Hi James,
It takes time but if you work at it. Triond can offer ongoing monthly earnings.
September 30th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
I’ve got 28 articles and 5 pics, and I usually make between 2-3 dollars a month. I should be more prolific though I don’t hae much time. Is just as you state in your article, the more you write the more you earn, since I’ve seen that the more articles I publish the more views I get overall in other articles. I suppose it’s because I get more readers!
October 1st, 2009 at 11:59 am
Hi Evvie,
Remember to interlink your articles so that they do double-duty.
Triond is a long-tail game but is a solid opportunity for those who work at it.
October 5th, 2009 at 2:04 pm
I have 5-6 articles and about 60 photos uploaded. The incomes: 0.1$ from articles/month and 0.03$/photos/month. This means 60 pictures are nothing.. Why are you so successful?
October 5th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
Hi Dark,
Articles need to be keyword optimized, then bookmarked and linked to–all a part of online writing.
October 9th, 2009 at 10:56 am
This is a good piece of article which leads the community to share their experience and earning potential at Triond. so far my earning is at .xx only but I am thinking more on the residual income.
October 10th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Athlyn,
I have 32 articles published, 19 photos and 20 recipes for a total of 71 items published. It looks like I have some work to do.
Having a reminder to set goals is important. Thanks for sharing.
Bless you,
chris

Chris, your stuff is awesome and offers good, usable information to readers.

To be honest with you, I am very disappointed to see that, as a new writer on Triond, we are greeted to a not-so-comfortable welcome in the posting forums. I went to the forums to ask certain questions but won’t do so. At this time, I may be reconsidering my activity with Triond. I have tried over and over to apply a JPEG pic where provided and it has yet to load. Iwould like to become a part of the group discission but can see that many, many of the forum posts are geared towards a pretty angry content. What a shame that Triond chooses to allow that type of behavior to go on. I had sent a message to the support staff and have yet to hear anything on that subject.I am a freelance professional in my state and was thinking of writing an article on thest types of places and am, quite honestly, horrified at the content within the forums at Triond.
October 14th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
Can’t agree more with maggiedoodle… the forums are pretty shocking and I am more than happy I started writing on Triond before they existed.
As for this article, you made me look up how many articles I had written, which I had never done before.
I logged in on Triond first in December 2007 and submitted my first article on 2 January 2008. All in all I have 296 articles still on line (I have taken some down over the months). Wow! I’ve been busy.
As for the money, I am with Guy on that one, but I am in the $$$.$$ category. This does sound like boasting but over the last six months I haven’t gone below 1500 hits a day. Yeah, Ok, that is boastin’ a little.
My best day was when I received over 60000 hits for a single article. I was happy.
Before anyone asks what my secret is – this is it. I write about what I know about and do piles of research when I do. I take a look at the google results for my subjects before I write them and try to keep in mind the online readership in the broadest possible terms. Yeah, I do have a blog too which helps as Athlyn has pointed out in other articles. Last of all, but certainly not least I used two of my most (yet least to some) endearing qualities!
Perseverence and tenacity. It took a long time to get up and running on Triond.
Oh, and even now there is *no* way I could afford to give up my day job. People have assumed I do this for my main source of income, and after I get back on to my seat and stop laughing I say I wish it were true!
However, like Richard says in the comment section here, the money is not the main reason I do this online writing thingy (ah, the literacy of the fella!). I do it because I love to write and I learn stacks while I am doing so too.
Plus, it sometimes makes my family laugh and they invariably know that late at night I am at the keyboard and not on the streets robbing old ladies.
Oh boy, just rabbited. Sorry, Athlyn!
October 14th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Wow, RJ, Thanks for sharing. What an encouragement to the rest of us!
I want to than everyone for taking the time to comment and add their experience.
It’s neat to read of article and income milestones with Triond.
October 14th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
Hi M.A,
Nice to see a newcomer. There’s a great writer community here at Triond, just give it time.
Are you clicking on the picture icon in the Online Editor?
November 5th, 2009 at 1:17 pm
I’ve been on Triond for about a year now and published 194 articles. Will break the 200 mark pretty soon. There are months where I earn way over $100, but I haven’t really broken the $200 mark yet. The reasons for this I think is because I do 0 advertising, none at all, with the exception of the articles being posted automatically on Twitter and Facebook. I’m also involved in many other writing sites such as Bukisa, AC, eHow and a plethora of others so I don’t have that much time to contribute to Triond. On average I publish around 1 article a day. Thanks and good luck to all.

Hi Chasov,
Your experiences are an encouragement for the rest of us. Sounds like you will make the 200 article milestone soon. Thanks for sharing!
