Guide: How to Write an Article – 10 Steps!

Don’t know how to getting started? Easy guide!

1. Determine your topic – What are you going to write about? Get insperation, and make ideas if you have to. It shouldn’t matter that someone already wrote about the same topic, just write anything you feel like.

2. Decide who your audience are – Who are you writing for? Are you writing for a beginner, an intermediate, or an advanced audience? For example, if you are writing an article about “How to get down in weight” are your readers new to training, or fitness people looking for advanced tips?

3. Do some research. How well do you know the topic? Is it something you can write easily about with little or no preparation, or do you need more information from experts in the field?

4. Make it clear how comprehensive you want the article to be – How long do you wish it to be? School tasks, magazines, and newspapers will often give you a limit. However, writing for Triond doesn’t necessarily be of a certain length.

5. Make an overview of possible sources to consult - This can include everything from documents, internet research and people you could talk to.

6. Write an composition of your article. Make an outline or summary, this will help bring the concept of the article into sharper focus – and you also get a better overview before you write.

7. Write the rough draft of the article as follows:

  • Make it clear for your readers what you are going to tell them. This is your introduction. For example:
    • This article will give you some tips to lose weight. It covers the following information: information about nutritions, dieting, and training tips and exercises.
    • The information in this article is written for a beginner. The author assumes that you have never used you’re new to losing weight.
  • Tell your readers what you promised them. In this part you will tell them information about nutritions, dieting, and training tips and exercises.
  • Finish with summarizing what you just told the readers. For example:
    • This article taught you about nutritions, information on dieting and also given you some training tips and exercises.

8. Check over your piece for presentation.

  • Check the article for incorrect information. Can you guarantee for your facts?
  • Remove any unnecessary or contradictory information. The only time you should have information that doesn’t support your topic is if you’re doing a “point-counterpoint” piece.
  • Eliminate anything that is just taking up space. Don’t fill your work with fluff. If you need to do more research, go ahead and do it.
  • Check for grammar and spelling errors.
  • Read it aloud to yourself to make sure the text flows smoothly.

#Rewrite the article as often as it takes.

9. Add a picture. If you can, add a picture! It will be more attractive to read and will also stand out from other articles. Pictures can also illustrate and clarify your information. (Ironically enough I didnæt add any pictures for this guide.)

10. Submit your completed work.
