Getting views and making money on the Internet Can and Does Make You a Better Writer.

Having just finished reading an article on Triond’s hot content entitled “You are not Going to Get Rich or Paid Writing Online” in which the writer did his best to discourage other writers from writing. While I agree with the author of this article that making money on the Internet writing takes a lot of effort and work I submit that the same holds true about making money at any craft.
Perfecting your craft no matter what it is takes time, effort, and dedication. Writing is no exception.
However, his criticism that writers are too concerned about views is ludicrous. One of the best ways I know about to improve your writing skills is for people to read what you write and give helpful criticism both good and bad. To get these comments you have to have people read your articles or stories and be willing to make comments. Money aside, views are important and no one should tell you otherwise.
One of the reasons I chose to write on Triond is because of the fact that it is so easy for people to give me feedback if they choose to do so. The number of views I get helps me in two ways.
First, it tells me which of my articles people are most interested in reading which encourages me to write more articles along those topics.
Second, it tells me what articles are well written and what ones are not so that I can improve my writing skills by patterning my writing along the lines of the better written articles. As a writer improving on my skill is important to me.
I also see nothing wrong in making just a few pennies per article. After all most of us would and have written for nothing sometimes have already written for nothing for years before we decided to try our luck on the Net. So making a penny or two is a step up as long as we are not simply content to make those few pennies forever.
Third, I firmly believe that no writer, good or bad, should be discouraged from following their dream. Dreams are what adds the spice to life and we all should have the courage and encouragement to follow our dreams. None of us may become the next Hemingway, but we all deserve the chance to try.
So go ahead and write, read, and view the work of other writers who are working at their craft. Take the time to give them feedback and they just might be more willing to give you feedback as well.
Who knows, you just might end up getting paid to write Online afterall. And just remember a penny here and there adds up.

I felt the same as you after reading that article. It seems kind of silly to take the time to WRITE an article discouraging others from WRITING. Fantastic article!

Well said! It takes a lot of guts to put your work out there to be critiqued. A writer should never be discouraged simply honestly critiqued.
