Did you know it’s not just about what you write, but how you write that allows affects how Google treats your articles in the search engines?
Before we begin, I just want to say that I am quite delighted with the responses about my Free PDF/e-Book, and am currently in the process of creating it now. I don’t know when it will be finished (I’m find myself adding more and more things I learn every day), but I’ll be sure to have an ETA soon. So thank you for your comments and I hope you enjoy my soon-to-be PDF.
Next, I’d like to apologize. Yes, apologize. Not because I’ve done anything wrong necessarily, but you might find that this guide is a little on the short side (hence the title “Minitip”). But I REALLY wanted to share this information because I think it’s important.
So, listen up!
There is actually a hierarchy of importance when it comes to Search Engine scanning. Based on how you emphasize things, the way your article is formatted can really make your article a winner or screw yourself over.
This is how Google reads your article:
So for those of you who are writing articles without any formatting, I think it’s high time to start!
As I mentioned before, your title is considered as the property “Heading 1″ for google, or “The most Friggin’ most IMPORTANT thing on this article”. Because of this, you want to make your article have an abudance of keywords while keeping it relatively short.
So let’s say I wrote a guide on triond about Vegetable Gardens, and my title was the following:
How to create a Flourishing Vegetable Garden
While that title is perfectly fine, I am still missing some valuable keywords. What if someone wanted to know what tools to use, what seeds to plant, or even what fertilizer to enhance their plant’s growth? Instead, I would make the title like this:
How to Create a Flourishing Vegetable Garden – Your Guide to Gardening Tools, Plant Seeds, Fertlizers.
As you can see from the above, the title is not too long, but I was still able to include the valuable keywords that would rank my article higher in the Search Engine Rankings.
You want to make your description short and sweet, and to the point. NEVER simply copy and paste your introduction paragraph of your article and paste it as your description – Google may just see it as duplication and consider your article low quality. Instead, tell your audience exactly what they will find in yourarticle. Don’t try to be fluffy or fancy, either, that just ends up pissing off more people than you know.
A perfect example of a description for my Gardening example would be the following:
Learn how to create an all natural garden with simple tips and tricks that are proven to work. Also learn about today’s best gardening tools and fertilizers, and which plant seeds are worth planting!
The description is only a couple sentences, is short and to the point, and defines exactly what will be in the article. As a person searching Google you will only be able to see the first two sentences of the website anyway. That is why it’s important to make those two sentences count!
Using Heading 3 and 4 is relatively easy to understand.
Format all Topics and Subject titles as Heading 3. (Gardening Tools, Plant Seeds, Fertilizers)
Format all subtopics as Heading 4. (Pumpkin Seeds, Carrot Seeds, Potato Seeds)
This can get a bit tricky.
I see a lot of people abusing these two formatting options and bolding and italicizing all the wrong things.
Typically, you want to Bold things that are important. For example, “Do Not Put Your Foot in Your Lawn Mower” may be something you want to put in bold.
Italics are something you reserve for emphasis (on a lesser level than bolding), or if a certain word is expected to be spoken different in english. So for example, there’s a difference between “Did he really put his foot in the lawn mower?” versus “Did he really put his foot in the lawn mower?”.

Why would u “fan” a writer without at least commenting on one of their articles? Taking time to read another’s work is far more substantive and sincere than the nanosecond it takes to “friend” or “fan” them. Friends become friends by sharing which can start by a genuine comment.

Like I said, I NEED to Friend or Fan people in order to get to know the person and get them on my News Feed. Triond’s “fan” and “friend” system shouldn’t be taken literally. It needs a lot of work.

I’m sorry if I didn’t get to know you, but it’s probably because I didn’t see your content on the NewsFeed or I didn’t find anything worth reading.

What exactly do you mean by formatting text?

What exactly do you mean by formatting text?

Just changing how a text will look in your article. For example, bolding a word or a sentence would be a type of text format.

Finally! Someone who can explain nice and easily how Google works when deciding how to rank an article. It’s taken me ages to find an article as clear and simple as this, thank you!
