Generate Lots of Traffic for Your Articles with These Tips

There are generally three kinds of writers on sites like Triond. Those that write what they love, not bothered by earnings. These are normally enthusiast or specialists The other kind will be those who write for earnings. They will write everything, anything that can generate a second income, whether or not they like the topic. The third kind will be a mix of both, and I fall into that category. All three types of writers have a common goal, that is to generate traffic to their article, be it to earn money or just to spread their word.

So what drives traffic to your paragraphs of words? I have summarised them below:

Content

We all know content is important. No matter what you write, make sure you know what you are writing. The last thing you want is a bunch of confused readers. If you are not an expert on the topic, do plenty of research. Plagarism is one thing, but gathering information from different sources and putting them together is another.

Before you even start on the first word of the first paragraph, you need an attractive title. Something that catches people’s attention when it is flashed across the screen, or pops up on a search result. Something controversial or personal will do just nice. Try using some bold or capital letters to make certain words stand out. Ask yourself why would you want to read this article. Instead of writing ‘How to slim down effectively’, you could write “I shaved 10 Kilos of flab in a month using this!”. Without a blistering title, all the good content in the world will go to waste. So spend some time thinking about your title. Why do you think you clicked on this article in the first place?

After you have directed them to your page. Next is to make your content attractive so that people will stay on the page for long enough to see the ads. Don’t write too long, nor do you write too short. Keep it within one page if possible. Paragraph your article properly. Cramping those words will only make readers click the ‘X’ on the top right hand corner.

If you are a type two writer, go with the flow. Write what people want to read. The universal law: SEX SELLS. In my articles, those that involve sexual vocabulary generate the most traffic and earnings per view. However, be careful not to write to blatantly. A slight tinge of sexuality is always the most attractive, rather than a full blown sex story. Let the porn sites take care of the latter. That said, do insert some saucy pictures. Those which portray human faces will do more help to attract positive attention.

Marketing

All good content will go to waste if it is not marketed properly. With the millions of articles out there, you wouldn’t want yours to be lost in cyberspace. Tap on resources like search engines, big or small, to get the clicks. One fact unknown to many is that you need to submit your webpages to the search engines before they appear in search results. Free submission may not ensure top spot, but it is good enough. Submit to all the search engines you can find and see the difference. You might opt for paid submissions too. They ensure guaranteed appearances and faster procedures.

Visit your own articles and do something. You can choose to  ‘Like’ it, so that it appears on your Facebook account. Or you can respond to the comments made by others. Keep your articles ‘alive’ as long as you can.

Consistency

As a writer, consistency and persistance is of utmost importance. Results are not seen overnight, unless you are a prodigy writer. Do write regularly, even if your articles are short. New articles are given their ‘minute of fame’ on websites. They will lead readers to other articles of yours. Who knows, you might start to gather a few fans of your own. For me, I make it a point to write at least every week. You’ll be surprised at how much you can write.

Write Smart
