A reader recently asked me how I manage to keep the book with ideas and maintain productivity.  The strange thing is not to create new story ideas is my greatest challenge yet.  In addition to being a part-time writer, I have a full-time career and a family.  This creates a dual challenge of producing ideas and have time to research and execute them.

It is necessary to generate many ideas and concepts that may be.  Then choose the best material from this collection.  I’m constantly looking for ideas, inspiration, issues, challenges, arguments, and everything that makes me want to write.  Strangely, these things are in each corner, if you see or not.

Capture ideas, store, process and use – All Day – Everyday

As I said, good ideas going on around us.  It is necessary to address these things in a way that you can act upon them at a later date.  My two main tools for capturing and acting on the contents of a laptop computer and software Evernote (www.Evernote.com).  Evernote runs on a Windows PC or Mac, with all smart phones.  They also have a browser plugin to quickly send information from Web pages to your notebook.  When I have an idea or see something of value, will immediately be taken place.  If I have my laptop, I write.  Later, I take a picture and send it to my Evernote program.  If I only have my phone, take a quick picture and write something to help me remember what I thought.  All those notes are sent in the files as “the ideas of this section” or “marketing” or “productivity”.

Take things as best as possible

For more ideas and inspiration, then you must read, watch or listen to works for inspiration.  I read mountains of information every day.  The best tool I have found for the mass, the effective information an RSS reader.  RSS Reader lets you subscribe to updated information from blogs, news sites, and almost everything else on the web.

I prefer to use Google Reader because it is based on the Internet and elsewhere.  I am currently subscribed to 200 feeds.  Me articles, news, videos, quotes, and more pouring in buckets quick review.  Group I, all these foods, and by theme (Productivity, technology, sports, finance, etc.) When I have time to read, you can quickly turn to the 30 or so new articles on a particular topic.

For most of the items you just scanned the headlines and pictures, for others I’ve read, the stars and share with them.  I can send those who are really good, Evernote for future use.  I’ve never seen a faster way to digest a lot of information, and get a quick idea of ​​what the topic a trend.

Stay away from the computer and meet people

Nothing puts the thoughts in his head faster than the call for dialogue.  I am often forced to find local activities where I can go out and meet real people.  Some of these people can read my blog and others are involved in things that interest me.  You get an unexpected number of ideas that way.  One of the places you’ll find interesting events in my region is Meetup.com.  If two or more people want to meet and discuss a topic, you will find.

Looking for ideas on the situations and challenges in everyday life

Think about your daily life experiences.  What kind of things make life difficult, more fun, fear or frustration?  Take the experiences and feelings that create and try to relate to your topic.  Probably write some of my best stuff when I’m angry about something embarrassing.
