Frustrations of an Article Writer on Their Impact and the Lurking Truth

Such is the capability of the human brain to come up with thoughts and bright ideas that mere lack of guidance, popularly known as train of thoughts in layman’s language and otherwise called norms in morals, can give any artist (in this case an article writer) the stigma of being incoherent, misguided, insensitive and unfair. However, with each and every piece of a convincing article he comes up with the writer almost always has this guilt he’s unconscious of lurking just underneath.

There are many forms of arts in the world: decorative arts, plastic arts, performing arts or literature. If you come to think of it one’s talent almost always falls in one of these four. However, not all are given the chance to pursue this intelligence of a talent for most end up in the professional, working, office type of world.

With those few who are given the chance to show what they’ve got they are almost oftentimes rendered a limited space of an allowance of the freedom where they can spread and flutter their wings.

Nobody can speak their very own feelings of dilemmas in these limitations in each and every form of art than the artists concerned. But since you’re reading something obvious, let me tackle that thought in writing the frustrations of someone like me, an article writer.

I’ve never been comfortable being regarded a writer but since I can write and get published I guess you can call me one.

I’ve never had an ounce of art in my body. Grade school art projects would render disappointing scores leaving me with the confusing question of what, again, went wrong. I always try to do everything right. I was always trying to be careful, I always listen to the directions and I always chose my best work to be the one I would submit. Until one day I made the mistake of coloring an elephant blue that I finally got the perfect score I’ve been hoping for and the realization that art (decorative arts I now know but the only art I know of that time) is weird and something I can never figure out.

Until I discovered I can write. I can write and get appreciated both in my local vernacular and in my second language. I just cannot write existing and discovered facts in a grammatically accepted way but I can actually voice out my very own views regarding or surrounding those facts which led to my humble space in the internet superhighway as a writer, not a journalist, not a specialist in one science or another, but an article writer at that.

Writing is not easy. Of course, it isn’t. But I guess article writing is the hardest of all forms of art for one should always be “politically correct”. An article writer should always try to see both sides of the equation. This is a bitter pill that goes with the territory for nowhere in any type of writing is any form of bias easily be seen and easily criticized. Nowhere has man’s talent been so limited by such form decency. Decency in seeing everything and anything that can get a lot of people, including the writer, out of trouble.

I remember a movie analysis I’ve done to Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman’s movie Australia. I mentioned the invaluability of both stars in the movie industry when all I wanted to point out really was the reasons I perceived that made that movie disappointing. So disappointing that’s it’s almost a humiliation to point out its stars’ credibility.

There was also an article I did on a certain mismanaged contest that was totally turned down for legal reasons. Well, publishers know better at what they do and writers rely on them to maximize exposure but that hasn’t left me totally consoled when I believe my only sin was being directly to the point on the reality of how I see those mismanaged things.

However, with all liberty, I would like to point out the fact that writing, with the exception of journalism, is a form of art that writers have to think about first, check out the one or two facts concerened, and put together our train of thoughts or beliefs and imagination to to revolve around that one and probably few facts we are pointing out the entire article to.

In this world where even the practicing professionals, whose existence came about by years of study, exposure and practice and whose freedom to carry out their profession depends on a license, still get it wrong I’ve learned from experience that behind each and every convincing piece of an article is the evil truth of creativity lurking underneath. That entire piece of article only becomes the whole truth if readers deem, accept and agree as such.

Writing, not journalism not textbook writing, is when facts are put, sewn together and made alive and believable by personal train of thoughts, beliefs and imagination tailored to give a decent, coherent, and a very personalized approach.
