Why many people turn to writing to make money, and how they can achieve their magic number.
It seems to me that the world of freelancing has grown since I started to write for a living. There are hundreds of people that turn to writing to make extra money, or as their main source of income. Writing is a fun way to make money, for those that have a deep passion for it, and for those that treat their online business as their job. There are many people (I was guilty of thinking this myself) that put in two or three hours every other day, and are surprise to see that the money is not coming in.
There are many hardworking freelance writers, that have started their business and become a success but like many writers in the process of marketing their business, they had a rough patch at some point. Many people think that this is the “lazy” or “easy” way of getting rich because they are making their own schedule while making the money that they want. This is not what freelancing is all about, and not how people get to success if thats what they are aiming for.
Freelancing should be taken seriously if people really want to make money in this business. There are hundreds of people and businesses that are not only helping people meet their career goals, but it seems like there are hundreds of new writers offering newer and more writing services to companies, and this is what many people like today. The important thing about all of this, is how much time should be put towards this career choice, if the person wants their business to be successful or their time to put to good use.
If freelancers want to make the kind of money that they have made in side jobs, or make a pretty penny working only a few hours a week, and have this amount be worth their time then like any other business, they have to work hard at it.
There is no other way of putting this, and no reason why writers cannot make the money that they want with this type of job. Today, people can sign up, register and even look up job ads, job forums and even websites where people get jobs assigned to them and get paid for it too. This is easy, but people need to put the time and energy into looking for these places and applying for at least 5 to 10 jobs on a daily basis for them to make the money that they want.
Want more ideas? Marketing, Marketing, and more marketing. This is about the only way that a writer can make their dream salary and be able to brag about it..
Just think about these methods, and let me know how they work out!

Thanks for an encouraging (albeit challenging) article. Many consider writing a “dream job,” but for me I have been awakened to realize that, along with developing your skill, it takes hard work and discipline.
