Five Tips on Writing Powerfully

Just how should we write powerfully to bring readers to our site? Here are some tips I gathered from the internet that are worth trying.

I want to improve more on my writing skills, particularly on how to drive readers to my site not because of some manipulative tricks to increase readership but the way words are written. I  searched the internet using powerful writing as keyword, threshed out the relevant ones and came up with the following tips:

  1. Understand your readers. Keep it simple, identify exactly what brought your audience to the page, and call it out. In other words, you’ll need a little research on how your audience behave.
  2. Make a difference in writing the article. Write articles that are informative, interesting, solve a problem, or answer a question, and well written. The author provides 12 tips on how to go about it.
  3. Write to influence people. We write not for ourselves but to influence people to get to do something. This book review suggests reading a New York Times Best Selling Book, the Influencer to get to the details. Well, it could be worth purchasing the book. But first, read the review to gain some worthy insights. Ideas beget more ideas.
  4. Make the headlines remarkably interesting. Writing eye-catching headlines is crucial to bringing readers to your site. Numerous examples provided herein are amusing and are really worth reading.
  5. Delete unnecessary words. There is power in words. Make every word tell something. It’s another way of saying, “Avoid beating around the bush.”

Well, “the taste of the pudding is in the eating”, let’s try and see how these tips work.
