Finding Time to Write

How to organise your day to find enough time to write.

Everyone is busy nowadays. Sometimes finding the time to do anything seems like just one more thing. Finding time to write can be the hardest of all. So have a look at your day. When are you bored or wasting time?

How about when you are travelling? If you commute on public transport, you can take along a pen and paper or pda and write then, even if it is just thoughts and ideas.  If you find it hard to concentrate in a crowded place, maybe putting in your headphones and listening to music or soothing sounds might help. If you just can’t write then, look into doing some of your reading or organising then so you can use the time you would normally do those tasks for your writing.

Or maybe a lunch break. Slip out under a tree with your laptop and hammer out a few words. Have one night a week where someone else puts the children to bed, or you order takeout and write during cooking time.

There are a lot of ways to steal a bit of time for the things you really love.
