Every writer understands the importance of intelligent comments for attracting more views. Most writers follow a “You comment on my article and I will comment on your article policy.” Yet most of them find it difficult to respond to comments in a timely manner by commenting on the articles of the commenter and lose opportunities to get more comments and thereby more views. If you too face the same problem, then following simple steps would be useful for you.
Every writer realizes sooner or later that there is something besides the quality of research and writing that attracts views. You write a well researched article with a perfect careful drafting and no grammatical errors, yet it lies there on you published articles page with total views yet to reach a double digit two weeks after being published.
Does that sound familiar? Having a large number of friends would help you get the initial views. But, then the views stop rising? Getting comments on your article helps you get more views because articles with more comments get priority in search engine rankings and Triond Ste’s recommended articles. Perhaps, you already know that. In that case some of you could be messaging friends to read and comment on your articles soon as you publish them.
But that alone is not enough. Your friends commenting on your articles will expect you to return the favor by commenting on their articles. Should you fail to fulfill their expectations they would lose interest and begin to skip your articles altogether.
If you agree with the line of thinking so far, then you could benefit from the following method. I too have gone through all that until I found the foolproof method to respond to comments. It is a secret that I am sharing with you here.
Make it a habit to respond to comments daily. By following the steps that follow you will be able to respond to each and every commenter quickly. This would in turn motivate and inspire him or her to come back to your content and leave more comments. That would in turn attract more views for your articles. Irrespective of earnings higher views will provide immense satisfaction to you.
1) Go to content menu on your dash board and click on “comments” tab in the drop down menu. A list of comments will appear in latest first order.
2) Use your mouse or keyboard shortcuts to select all the comments of the previous day and “copy” (CTRL+C, if you find it difficult to manipulate your mouse).
3) Open a word document and paste it there. If your version permits retaining formatting you will get a table, which is an exact replica of Comments page of the particular day. Otherwise, choose the paste special option and “keep text only”.
4) Now delete every thing from the page except names of the commenter. Make sure that each name appears in a new line.
5) If you are familiar with certain specific features, you could select all the names and convert the selection to a table using the option in the table drop down menu. Then copy the table and paste it in an Excel work sheet to arrange the names in lexicographic order.
6) Taking the list whether in alphabetical order or as it is, you can go to each commenter (writer’s) content page in turn. Choose as many articles to comment as he or she has given you.
7) Read these articles and leave intelligent comments. Do not just type stereotype “good work” or paste links to your content making a mockery of the whole exercise.
8) As you comment on his content, tick off or delete or highlight his name in the list before going to the next commenter.
9) If you are short of time then you can always go back to the list the following day and complete the remaining task.
But in any case make sure that you respond to each comment with in two to three days.

In one of my articles on the use of SearchStatus tool, I had explained that if a commentator takes the trouble to use author’s keywords in their comments, the value of the article can go up really high, and I am sure you can see why. So if you are reading an article say on the importance of antioxidants, the most valuable comment would be ‘your article on the importance of antioxidants is very relevant/interesting/insightful/rubbish/silly’

Good tips in this article about Triond views and comments. I do waste time sometimes commenting on friends who never respond – perhaps I should first concentrate as you suggest on answering all who took the time to comment.

Try to respond to mostly everyone, well at least one article a day from everyone who posts one. Then I at least read everything back as time permits. Some days, I find myself being thrown behind because of various things.

Very thoughtful. But instead of wasting the time in cutting, pasting, deleting, etc., I follow an easier way. I shall share it in my next article.

I totall agree, as I posted to earlier, we all have to take a least 1 hour a day, a comment on articles if we expect to get anywhere here on Triond.com, or any other site for that matter.

This sounds highly organized and detailed. Not a bad system, but what happens if you get more comments then you can handle. I know I know we should be all so lucky to have that problem LOL. Thanks for the tip.
