What to do when innocent article gets repeatedly declined as duplicate content?
A lot of duplicate content seems to pass Triond’s system for publishing. However, innocent articles sometimes get tagged instead of real duplicate content. This happened to one of my articles today.
I wrote an article about feeding red eared slider turtles. I wrote similar article (with the same title though) for my own website and decided to share my experience on Triond as well to reach more readers. So, I wrote a completely new article – new sentences, something added, something left out. Just the basic information was the same, still with different wording. I added a photo of my turtle too and hit submit.
Later on I checked whether it got published already. It did not and it did not show in pending section either. Imagine how I felt when I found my article in declined section! I spent about an hour writing, proofreading and preparing that article for publication. I know it does not seem like that much time, but I was writing it out of my head as I had enough experience with the matter to write the article without searching for other sources. Proofreading took most of that hour …
Of course, I submitted it again. Result was the same – immediately declined as duplicate content. The reasoning contained two links to some website where, as it seemed, people were discussing things about red eared slider turtles. I found nothing that would justify declining my article as duplicate content there!
I have submitted my problem to Get Satisfaction and I’m awaiting the answer now. I just hope they solve this problem soon as my article was wrongfully declined and it could have been earning me some pennies already.

can understand the frustration, i had this experience few times in the past, very annoyed, i wrote all from my heart, not copy and paste, i then resubmitted and amended a little and managed to get thru.

I understand. I tried to quote two sentences from bin Laden’s will in a 700 word article and it was declined for duplicity and know what, guys copy and publish the hot content articles word for word and triond doesn’t realize it until the owner screams the eyelids off.

It must be submitted in Triond first before on your blog, even the title itself.

The title does not count. There are great many titles that were already used elsewhere or even here on Triond many times over. After all, the title is just few words. There is just that many ways to make a title out of the same keywords.
As for the article itself – it is a complete rewrite, not a sentence copied from original article on my website. After all, the links to content I supposedly copied were not to my website, but to website with questions and answers about red slider turtles (looked like 2 debates on the website where people discuss many different things).

I have had a lot of articles declined for quoting Bible verses. Get Satisfaction is usually good for getting them published, but it is frustrating to have to go through the process.

I don’t know why it was declined Michal. Can understand your frustration.

Thank you all for your comments. I managed to get my article through this morning. But, I had to re-write it almost completely two more times … I decided to delete my post in get sattisfaction and simply try until it gets through.

How frustrating for you. Fortunately, my luck continues as I have not encountered this issue – knock on wood!
