Does Every Dog Have to Die at the End?

Almost every dog story is so predictable..

I remember reading a book back in grade school called No More Dead Dogs. After reading through it made me think and realise that in almost every story about a dog, it always ends up dieing. Look up classics like Where The Red Fern Grows and Old Yeller and you’ll find out the dog dies at the end. Heck, even in I Am Legend the dog dies.

This is why stories about dogs are so predictable. We don’t care about the main part story, we’re just trying to prepare ourselves when something happens to the dog. And even though the part is sad we go ahead and watch it. When i went to go see Marley and Me I knew what was going to happen at the end yet I sat through and cried my heart out. It doesn’t even end on happy note. It just shows how the family will try to cope with the lost of their favorite pet which makes you still feel sad after watching.

So please, next time you make a story about dog or any other pet, make sure it lives.
