Does Anyone Really Want Triond to Change?

Most of us love writing for Triond. Do we really want it to change to become more like other site?

I just read an interesting article by another Triond writer, in which he suggested that if he were to become president of the Triond community he would push for certain changes. I myself have on occasion suggested changes to this site, though mostly out of a misplaced sense of humor over hearing others complaints. The question is while every site needs to be innovative and improve from time to time do we really want Triond to make any major changes?

Here are a few suggested changes.

Upfront payments. While many of you write only for Triond, upfront payments for your work may sound wonderful. I write for multiple sites, and some of those sites do offer upfront payments. However, let me explain that not every writer on these sites gets upfront payments, nor does someone who has gotten an upfront payment get one every time.

While each site offering upfront payments has different criteria for how and when you receive an upfront payment there is always some criteria that has to be followed.

What this boils down to is that if Triond started upfront payments most of us would not receive them on a regular basis. The ones that did receive them often would be trading off certain writing freedoms this site now gives us for the upfront payments.

While I am willing to conform to the criteria on these other sites, I like Triond simply because it does not having such criteria to conform to. I can write anything I want on just about any topic I want. I don’t want to see that change on this site.

Increased chance of Making the Hot Content List

While I have made the hot content list a few times, making it or not making has not changed my life nor has it made me anymore popular or any less popular on this site. Sure making the list the first few times was fun and even exciting, but after that I am not even sure I know if I make it or not.

I use the hot content list simply as a means to view the writings of others, not as a measure of how good a writer is. In that regard, I guess I don’t really care one way or another whether the hot content list changes the way it is selected.

Not Publishing Articles With Spelling or Grammatical errors

I view Triond as a great site where writers can learn and improve their craft. I have seen writers who have begun writing on this site who had lousy writing skills overall. I have seen these same writers dramatically improve by simply being a part of this site, and receiving comments and offers of help to improve their writing skills.

I feel proud of their efforts and accomplishments and I am very proud of the people who have taken the time to help these writers out. The truth is that most schools do not turn out people who have good writing skills anymore. If someone wants to learn to write they need to start somewhere. As I’ve said before why not Triond?

The truth is most of us write here on Triond because we love this site, the sense of community and the freedom we have here. Do we really want to change all that?

I certainly like Triond the way it is. Why change something that seems to work well most of the time?

Well I was hopeful someone could make Triond a more profitable site. I love triond! It would be nice if it could work but maybe it wouldn’t. I hope the right decision is made.

The only changes I’d like to see at Triond are those that would increase the pay :)

I love Triond and think it is a great site. Now that being said all sites have some problems and so does Triond. There has been a problem with recording views lately. I know for the last few days I have not had only 2 to 3 views a day down from 150 to 300 at day but that is what they are saying. I would like to see upfront payment even if it was only 10 to 30 dollars an article.

It’s okay… nowadays taking lots of time to publish my articles… everything should change and change for the better.

If Triond is not broke why try to make it more like other sites? I don’t understand the logic behind this line of thinking. Why not just write for the other sites? Or just write for Triond and the other sites. Triond is unique in its simplicity. Let it stay unique.

Absolutely not, I don’t want Triond to change. I love it just the way it is. Triond is the best site for paying. They have a few glitches sometimes but I am not complaining.

I don’t want Triond to change but just like everything else on this planet, I do think there is scope for improvement. For example, perfecting commenting in a way that it markets us as individuals is quite good and like you mentioned it is equally essential to perfect the ‘Hot Content’ list as well. Good article but I don’t think I want Triond to change. I like it the way it is to be honest although simple tweaks where necessary doesn’t hurt anyone.
