When you are writing a five paragraph essay. There are five things that you need to focus on. Okay think of it as a hamburger sandwich. And, you can use the introduction and conclusion for (the two buns) that holds the sandwich together. And the meat, cheese, and lettuce of the sandwich will be (the three body paragraphs). It’s important that you remember the structure of a five-paragraph essay!

Your essay most begin with an introduction that explains the counterarguments to your thesis statement. For example, let’s say your thesis was that the Giants’ victory in Super Bowl  was the greatest upset in NFL history, you could say, “Some people think that the Jets’ victory over the Colts in 1969 was a bigger upset.” Then you should discuss why those counterarguments are wrong, and then make sure you have facts to back up your argument. Counterargument always makes your arguments more stronger. Then you can elaborate on some of reasons why people might disagree with your position.

Actually, I would suggest that you use effective strategies for thinking, writing, and speaking. If you developed and organized your essay; it will be more effective, with a clear purpose. There are many different strategies that can used to make your writing more powerful. A few examples are, similes or metaphors, using details, narrating a story, comparing and contrasting, analyzing cause and effect, and explaining a process.

Your first paragraph should catch the reader’s interest and states what the rest of the essay is about. Your essay must include a thesis because it is a brief statement that summarizes the main idea and/or argument that you’ll develop in the rest of the paper. The thesis must have two parts. First, start with your topic that explains what your paper is all about. Then state your argument. For example: if your paper was about Super Bowl  you can start by mentioning that they played in February 2008, and also that the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 17-14. That’s your topic. Next, thing you should do is summarize the argument you’re making to the reader about Super Bowl

The best way to write an essay is to make sure that you develop your thesis. It’s important that your essay highlights your points that support your thesis topic. Organize your thoughts by using note cards with information on them.

The thesis statement should be in your first paragraph because a thesis statement is the most important sentence (or sentences) in your paper. Why, because it tells the reader what your essay is all about. The thesis statement explains the main idea of your whole paper. Well the conclusion should be the ending of a story, essay, or film. It wraps up all the closure for the characters.
