Do I Have to be a Great Writer to Make Money Writing Online?

Let me be the first to put your mind at ease. The short answer to your question is: NO!

You don’t have to be a great writer or have a degree in writing to make money online writing articles.

The internet has leveled the playing field for writers. People on the web want information and answers and they don’t care about perfect grammar, puncuation, and all the myriad of other rules that the writing elite have told us for years that we had to know in order to be a successful writer.

Now don’t get me wrong. I beleive it is important to try and master all these rules, and if you are a great writer already that’s all the better. But for those of us who are not there yet the internet allows us a place to learn and grow while making some money in the process.

I have been writing articles online for years now as well as making a decent income and I still get people leaving snobbish comments on my articles about how poorly written they are. This used to bother me. It doesnt anymore. I think it is hilarious that despite the fact that my article is so badly written, Mr Uppity Writer still managed to find it and read it. I must be doing something right!

The internet is driven by information. Give the people what they want and they will forgive you fro the little maistakes you make while writing. As you write more you will get better at writing and make less and less mistakes. But don’t sweat it. As long as you are trying your best then you are doing ok:)

I think one of the reasons people give up trying to write for profit online is because they spend too much time trying to make their articles perfect. Sometimes you just gotta get your writings out there. I am purposely not going to proofread this article before I submit it. Why? So you can see that despite all the errors I have made writing this article (and I am sure there are a few) you still found it, read it, and hopefully got the point.

And that is what it’s all about: Informing the reader. If you can do that then you have done your job. So stop worrying about writing and start writing! before you know it you will be making money from your articles and you might even have become a great writer.
