I found that one of the way to prevent writer block is to re-read our old articles. Since our old articles are the topics that we are very familiar with, so they can give us some clues to write new articles that are related to the topics we are good at. Revisiting old articles can bring up new ideas to write new articles.
Do you re-read your old articles?
You might be experiencing the same problem as I do in article writing – running out of ideas to write new articles. Normally, we call this as lack of ideas problem as writer block. We know that we want to write new articles but we find it hard to even think of an idea to start with and that is the major problem we faced. We tried to think very hard and finally get a few ideas that seems to be good but it might end up that we might have written it before. And so, we start to look at what other authors are doing, “How on Earth they can think of so many ideas to write?” So, in this article, I have found some ways to help myself generates new ideas to write new articles and I find that my methods are quite effective.
I would recommend revisiting our own old articles. We could read through some of our old articles and then do some changes necessary to improve the articles. From there, we might got some new ideas to write such as writing a new article to discuss some of the known topics in our old articles to enhance the articles’ contents. Then, we can provide a new link in our old articles to our new articles.
Why old articles?
Our old articles might give us some clues such as writing a new articles specifically discuss about a small part of our old articles. In addition, we can help to improve and add in extra information to old articles which would enhance reading experience. Old articles can always be re-written. Why? Some of the old articles might be hidden from the crowd and you might want to give it a new twist to make it stand out. So, writing a new one with the same topic as the old articles can help to bring more attention to your articles and in return gain more readers. Of course, make more money.
Tips: When rewriting old articles into new articles, the key to make your new articles atrractive is “make it awesome”.
Our old articles often contain information that we have written and over time, we tend to forget what we have learnt and what we knew in the past. Revisiting our old articles can help us to recall back what we have written in the past and get more clues to write. Those clues will become our “lightbulb” to start writing new articles or give our old articles a new life.
Re-visiting our old articles can help us identify the weaknesses of our old articles. Then, we can re-write them into new articles by adding more information and of course, avoid repeating those weaknesses in our old articles.
Give Them a New Title and New Structure – Make Them Glow!
Old articles often don’t get as much page views because of the title and the structure of the articles. You can re-write your old articles into new ones by giving them new title and giving them a better and more organized structure. Make the articles properly organized and it can help your readers read clearly. Ask yourself, do you want to read an article that is in a mess?
So, re-read your old articles, you will find gems and diamonds in them.
