Where did those years go!
Writers like to put nice or flattering profile pictures of themselves on book sleeves or where ever their picture is needed. Do you really get to know the person who may write articles you’re fond of? I have gathered some pictures of LB aka Lord Banks so you may understand where I came from and where I’m going pictorially.
I am the skinny teenager in the middle of the poor quality picture sorry old pictures don’t age well! I was obsessed with my weight as many teenagers become, I fear my weight loss regime worked too well!
Here I am in 1983 on my first holiday abroad ever to Magaluf in Spain, I was 19 years old.
This torn picture tells its own story. It was taken in 1988 when I got engaged aged 23. It is torn because my second wife found the picture of me and my first Fiance! I managed to save this part from the bin! Jealousy is a strange beast at the best of times! Didn’t everyone have beards in the 1980’s? well I did.
This picture of me and my brother in law was taken in 1990 and the filling out of the LB frame is beginning! Serious weight training in the gym may have contributed to it some what.
A picture of me taken on a fishing boat off the coast or Ireland in 1991. Note the period of being folically challenged is approaching. My first marriage broke down one week after this was taken. Moral of the story? either don’t go Mackerel fishing in the Irish sea or don’t start to lose your hair!
The next picture is of a family get together. Middle age is around the corner!
This picture was taken when I had just left hospital after my Blood transfucion and Bi-Lateral Hip replacement operation last year. I was not too well or strong at this point.

I hope you enjoyed having a glimpse into some personal memories and to see how I have changed and where I am up to today. Maybe it may encourage fellow writers to share our pictures and get to know each other better.

DLB…what didn’t they have cameras back when you were a baby or in school??? LOL!!! Your appearance hasn’t really changed a great deal over the years…Anyway…interesting pictorial history…maybe we should all do the same thing…Wonder if Triond would ban the rest of us for not submitting an “original” article??? I voted that I like it…thanks and take care
